Service Objectives & Operation:

This 2 owner truck has been serviced with the kind of meticulous attention that would make any brand aficionado very proud.The dedication to service over the years CLEARLY shows in every detail.She fires right up and has plenty of power when you hit the pedal.The drive in this truck is exceptional.There are zero hesitations or misfires – she purrs with reliability and confidence you can feel.The 72K mile drivetain makes all the difference here… as you can even accelerate up the 405, AC blasting, passing other cars – those of you who are fans of the D1 know this is quite an achievement.

She cruises straight and true with no wanderings of any kind.Take a long looping freeway interchange at speed and the suspension is plush and assertive, giving you a feeling of total control and comfort. There is an elasticity there that just comes built in with such a low mile truck. Additionally, its no small statement to note that the steering wheel still retains its original calf-skin like softness.Most D1 steering wheels are usage glazed over – making them slick and rigid.Not so here and its an added treat for the true enthusiast.

That said, with all the power you could hope for… she’s got stopping power that will make you rethink what a Discovery was originally capable of!There is wonderfully sensitive and powerful pedal pressure and as the Genuine pad/rotor set up continues to bed in, it increases every day.

The brand new Cooper AT3’s were fitted less than 20mi ago and are a fantastic upgrade to the original tire.They are sleek in profile, yet look the business when the going gets tough.They are ultra quiet on the motorways and have excellent lateral stability.

All switches and controls work great; windows, doors, sunroofs, seats, etc.

The AC has been overhauled and cools the cabin down quickly and the heat blasts nicely on cold toes after a morning surf – yes… I’ve taken her out a few times… and guess what?THE HEATED SEATS WORK PERFECT TOO!!!

There are no check engine lights or any illuminated warnings on the dash; and yes, all of the bulb check bulbs are accounted for!!!

Body, Chassis & Coachwork:

This thing looks as good as it ever has.The Walnut Brown with Lightstone Leather piping interior is as soft and clean as you’d hope it to be.Lets say that again:THE WALNUT BROWN LEATHER with Lightstone trim will leave your Rover-holic friends drooling.A lot of bragging rights come with this as well since the vast majority of these vehicles were ordered with Lightstone Seating with Walnut piping.All woodwork is dark, and the rugs and mats are clean, with the pile still factory plush with all “Land Rover” branding clean and legible.Check out the 50th Anniversary loadspace rug… incredibly clean… as if nothing was ever placed back there.The headliner is brand new and with the full-service professional detail, she smells like a new car.It has always been a non smoker vehicle and it gives you a sense of factory freshness that would be lost otherwise.

The paint is in great condition, shines up beautifully as pictured, and is a welcomed treat from the normal run of Disco colors out there.Woodcote Green changes in varying light and truly makes her a distinctive choice.All paint-matched accents are in great condition and the chrome bumpers shine up and polish quite nicely.There are small to non existent surface blemishes to be expected – and the only real stand outs are the scratch by the license plate and rear roof.Both small.But both there.Tough to say what would have caused them.If I had to guess, probably a gear loading malady from days gone by.

That said, the vehicle is another wonderful rust-free California example with all jambs, hinges, seams, pans, bulkheads, welds, arches, etc in as pristine condition as you’re gonna find.

One of the nicest things about the 50th Anniversary LSE’s were the optional “TWR” wheels – offered only on 95 Range Rover Classics to commemorate historic year models.These wheels are HIGHLY sought after and sets of 5 (such as these) still sell for over $500!Another collectors point here – take a look at the 50th Anniversary Showroom Brochure – about as rare to find as the vehicle itself, it has half a dozen FANTASIC pages filled with profile stories, history, vehicle data and limited edition specifications.They make a wonderful companion.

I am VERY proud of each and every Rover that I hand select and hand-craft. As amazing as all of them are, i wouldnt ever say any of them are "perfect." None of them are and I have only used the term museum piece ONCE. And i am well aware of the qualifiers for that monicker.

With each and every listing, i try to capture the flavor of what strikes me about each vehicle. I try to capture their essence. I try to make the description feel like a conversation between you and I, or even a phone call. Covering the general and intimate details that stand out to me. That said, we all know that while they are all Rovers, all made in the same place, each one is different.
