Restoration

Hi and welcome to my fully Frame Off restored 2.5 petrol Defender 90.
This vehicle has undergone a full frame off, nut & bolt restoration which has taken over 6 months to complete. Everything on this 90 is either new or has been reconditioned to like new condition.
The vehicle was stripped to its bare chassis, media blasted then treated to the 3 step POR15 treatment. This has given the chassis the best protection. No rust for probably decades to come. You will not see a drip of wax oil on this chassis (nothing nasty to hide.)
Both axles were stripped for all internals, the casings media blasted & then POR’ed. They wererebuilt with all new parts including Teflon coated swivel balls on the front axle, all new seals / gaskets, bearings, drive flangesand of course all fluids renewed. A new A frame ball joint was also replaced on the rear axle.
A full Vulkollan polyurethane bush kit has been added, enhancing articulation, vibration damping and willlast longer than standard rubber bushes.
All new suspension including springs, shocks (premium Armstrong shocks not Britpart), turrets, springs seats andhardware. Both inner wings have been freshly galvanized as original & will last another 25 years.
A fully reconditionedand rebuilt 4 bolt steering box (the best steering box land rover made) was installed with matching new drop arm, new track rod & track rod ends andnew steering damper (again Armstrong).
2.5 Petrol engine (17H engine code) which is a bulletproof unit, was fully rebuilt by a land rover specialist in the UK (too much to list but everything from big end bearings to water pump, please message or contact me for a breakdown, but consider it a full engine rebuild).
The engine was then treated to the higher performance gas flowed Turner Engineering Cylinder head. Turner advertise you get approx. 20% increase in performance and I believe it. A new weber carb complements the rebuild. The exhaust/inlet manifold was media blasted & cleaned and a new full exhaust including new hardware installed so the engine can breathe correctly. To keep the engine running nice and cool, a new radiator has been installed with all new rubber pipework, a new heater matrixand during the engine rebuild, a new waterpump was fitted with a new thermostat & switches.
The clutch was completely replaced; new Borg & Beck clutch kit was installed, master & slave cylinder. A new starter motor was installed.
The LT77 gearbox is a new unit by Ashcroft transmissions in the UK (considered the best Land Rover gearbox rebuilders in the world). The LT230 transfer box was fully serviced with new bearingsand gaskets. New prop shafts were installed at this time also.
A brand new gas tank has been fitted with new fuel pump, sender unit, new fuel linesand new hardware.
All braking components arebrand new includingnew front brake calipers, rotors, pads, new brake lines front to back, rear drums, shoesand wheels cylinders. New Master cylinder, servo, were also installed to complete the full rebuild on the braking system.
The Bulkhead is in great condition and has been media blasted, seam seale, gray primed in powder coat and top coated in Oxford White.
All new stainless steel bolts have been used around this truck; however where strength is essential zinc coated bolts have been used.
The LH & RH sills were media blasted, primed & power coated, as well as several other under body brackets including the floor panels on both driverand passenger side, as well as the gearbox tunnel.
All glass weather seals have been fitted with a new windshield glass, wiper bladesand arms.
Both front doors have been completely rebuilt, the frames repaired with new steel channeland new Galvanized skins installed. These skins will NEVER rust or corrode like the original aluminum ones. New window channel & internal hardware renewed. New door cards complement the rebuilt doors. A Brand New rear door installed.
The interior has been treated to a day at the spa. New front carpet kit installed, new seats in Exmoor Trim's XS trim, new Exmoor Trim premium cubby box in the diamond XS to match the front seats. New top dash, around speedo, gear gaiter & handbrake gaiter in black leather with white stitch again to match the XS trim. A TD5 front headliner has been installedand in great condition with matching sun visors.
In the rear are brand new bench seats with seat beltsand a genuine Land Rover rear load mat. These are great hardwearing rubber mats that outlast carpet, great for dogs or the beach run etc.
New exterior & interior paint in Oxford White, new wheel arches in gloss black, new modern & safe LED lights all round including LED Main lights in LHD units (so you don’t blind oncoming traffic).
4 Heavy Duty Wolf wheels in good condition with 235/85/16 tires.
I am sure there are several things I have forgotten to mention, however as you can tell this is a unique opportunity to invest in alegendary vehiclewhich isn’t being made anymore. Plus this is the rare 2.5 gas engine which are considered a solid bulletproof unit. I do not get involved with horrible 19J TD’s they are a very unreliable engine. I specialize in the 2.5 gas (17H) & theinfamous 3.5L V8.
All clear on US customs, DOT & EPA. Comes with a clear FL title in hand in my name. I welcomeand suggest all inspectionswhich should beundertaken prior to end of auction.

Strictly no time wasters, I have been there before so please don’t waste my time. Please only bid if you have the funds available. Vehicle will not be released without all funds cleared. I am motivated to sell as have other upcoming defender projects.
