1972 Land Rover Other 3 Series Description

I bought this 1972 Landy from an owner that had it as a ranch vehicle in SW South Dakota since new.The odometer says 23773 on it but the speedo quit working on it since I have did the frame on restoration 2 years ago. I have not repaired it yet and have only put approx 400 miles on it.I believe the mileage was accurate since I purchased it.
Since the body is aluminum there is and was zero rust when I got it.The body was sun faded red and needed to be completely resprayed so I pulled the panels, seats, lights, seals and top off so it could be done right. I had the body media sprayed and properly primed since it is aluminum and requires an extra step before painting. I had a tough coat spayed on the interior metal and it looks awesome and is very durable.I reassembled the body and bought new lighting, seats, $600.00 floor matting for sound and heat repelling, head liner, new gaskets and new windshield and front door glass.
My auto tech did over $2,000 getting it running excellent and changed all of the fluids, tuned it up, new plugs, wires and pulled the old oil bath filter and installed an updated filter and brake master cylinder..
The car runs and starts well. It drives down the road straight and the 4 wheel engages easily.I have had it up to 70 but I feel that pushes it too hard so I drive it around town at 30-40.It is a real head turner. This car isn't perfect but is really nice and in great shape in and out. It does have it's typical few drips on the garage floor like they all do from this vintage. It has been garaged since restored and never seen the rain, dirt or snow. dry pavement only!It is missing a few pieces of gaskets along the windows but I have extra not installed and it is cheap and easy to order if you want it.
The wheels are new and from Rovers North including the hood spare. The tires are brand new and beefy but not much oversized.
I have tons of the old parts and some additional extras that will be included in the sale.I also have tons of before photos, photos during the restoration and additional currents I can send.Feel free to email me at mikering@arvig.net for more photos or questions.
With only 1114 Series 3's shipped to the US in 1972 and fewer than 5000 shipped to the US from the 1950's to the 1970's this British SUV is very rare survivor and it's a LEFT hand drive.
This truck is currently garaged in Minnesota and easy shipping is available.
