1995 NAS Land Rover Defender 90 - Incredibly rare factory NAS "prototype" with factory Land Rover automatic transmission. This is a North America Spec Defender that was kept at the Land Rover factory in England for the first part of it's life for testing and modifications. We have a letter from Land Rover Traceability confirming this. This D90 was the actual Defender that Land Rover sent to Safety Devices (roll cage manufacturer in the UK) to design the new internal roll cage for the Station Wagon (hard top) version of the Defender in North America. We have emails confirming this as well. Land Rover then sold it to a local dealer, Rogers of Bedford, in Bedfordshire, UK, just north of London. After a short time as their display car, they sold it to a local Englishman who had them install the factory NAS 1997 automatic tranmsision. You cannot tell this one apart from a 1997 Defender in the US.
This is one of the cleanest and nicest running NAS Defenders we have come across. I am truly impressed with how tidy it is in and out and how well it runs. The prior owners have taken exceptional care of it and you would be hard-pressed to find a cleaner NAS D90 automatic in the US.
I had the D90 legally imported to the US from Canada after the initial buyer in the UK got married and moved to Canada back in 2004, bringing the Defender with him. It is now titled in Oregon and ready to be registered and titled in any State in the US.
Although already in wonderful condition when I purchased it, we have spent some time repairing a few minor items and making it truly exceptional and ready for it's next owner.
