Daily Driver, Excellent Condition - 1994 Range Rover Classic, SWB
I am the 3rd owner of this Colorado vehicle (it didn't come to New England until 2011) and it might be the best RRC on the road with all of the extras and upgrades you need and none of the issues.
I’ve worked closely with an experience Range Rover mechanic. He and I have had modifications to avoid repeats of issues I experienced. We also try to avoid doing repairs just for the sake of repairs, taking a surgeon’s approach of only cutting open unless absolutely necessary.
Here are the details
Title: In Hand
Model: 1994 Range Rover Classic
Sub- Model: SWB - Short Wheel Base. This is the more rare 3.9L engine as compared to the LWB with the 4.3L engine. It also has the hard dash, which is preferred over the 1995 soft dash that mimics the Land Rover Discovery.
Color: Beluga Black exterior, Tan interior.
Miles: Just crossed 127,434 (nothing for a 22 year old car - these engines run forever)
Rust: Minimal! This is an original Colorado vehicle so the car experienced minimal exposure to salt during the winter. And, the car is 90% aluminum. There is a little bit of rust on the tailgate but the rear window fully closes and also has no rust.
Tires: Three year old Khumo Road Venture MT (205 80r16) -$1000 value. I also have the upgraded and special TWR rims that were a factory option for the year.
Coil Spring Conversion: Original air-lift taken out for Old Man EMU coil spring suspension. (This is a major upgrade every RRC owner must do to avoid complications down the road) There is a 1" lift, which puts the vehicle at the normal ride height. With the air-lift suspension, the vehicle would lower on highways, ride at normal for daily driving and raise for off-road. The 1" lift puts the RRC at a great highway height that is perfect for any off-road ventures.
Engine: Tornado Systems chip for better gas mileage and low-end torque. K&N air-filter.
Brush Guard: Vintage, and retro-looking brush guard with matching rear tail-light guards (these are no longer made by the way). Includes Hella lights on brush-guard with separate on/off switch.
Brakes: Brand new ABS pump motor. New rear brake pads, rotors and calipers and power brake booster. Front brakes might need work at some point.
Miscellaneous Repairs and upgrades:
-New alternator (replaced summer of 2015)
-New rear catalytic converter and muffler / exhaust system.
-New battery with warranty
-New fuel pump, sparks, and ignition distributor system
-Original cloth floor mats, plus aftermarket winter floor mats
Condition:Interior is great, no major issues at all. Original stereo, cassette deck, speakers, sub-woofer, and retro in-trunk 6-disc CD changer. Radio is working, but has been spotty.
Driver, passenger windows & sunroof all functioning perfectly. Interior lights and electrics work. AC still blows cool, heat is amazing in winter. Occasional issues with the rear windows that have yet to be diagnosed (a very common problem with Classics, and can be easily resolved with upgraded EMU for the windows - just hasn’t been a priority for me.)
Exterior is typical of a 22-year old car. It's got 10ft. paint with the normal scratches and rock chips you'd expect. No major paint problems of any kind. The pinstripe was just repainted, so it looks amazing. Probably could use a clay bar application and wax, but outside of that, looks good. There is very little rust in the traditional spots as well.
I have all paperwork and repair history since I’ve owned it - regular maintenance, oil & fluid changes have been consistent.
This truck is an absolute thoroughbred. I drive it everyday - commuting to work, picking up my kid, going on road trips - and love every minute. I’ll miss it.
This is a great primary or secondary vehicle. It’s at home in the city, pummeling snow banks, out in the country traversing pastures and hills, or cruising the beach trails all over the coast line.
I’m asking $7,250 for the rig, or best offer. I am motivated to sell. Family circumstances have changed for us.
Cliched to say, but they don’t make them like this anymore.
