1988 Land Rover Defender Description

1988 Land Rover Defender 110

ACTUAL VIN: SALLDHAC8EA351187
2.5L naturally aspirated diesel (12J)
LT77 5 speed manual gearbox
Dual fuel tanks
13,180 KM's (8,200 miles)
Clean Arizona title in hand, located in Phoenix. This Defender is titled as a 1984 due to AZ MVD’s archaic VIN decoding system. I have the original UK V5 registration certificate verifying that the 110 is actually a 1988 (11/23/88 was first registration). I also have the annual MoT certificates going back to 2001 cataloging the low incremental mileage.
I have put around 500 trouble free miles on the 110 since importing it in October of 2016. It starts up right away and idles smoothly thanks to electronic throttle control.
Includes original manual, 1 full set of keys, and an integrated anti-theft device with 2 fobs. The fobs are briefly inserted into a port on the steering column prior to starting the vehicle. The original speedo is in KM’s (13,180) but I will also include a new MPH speedo that has been advanced to the correct mileage.
With a whopping 68HP and 114lb ft of torque the top speed is around 65MPH before the plucky little diesel starts to lose its oomph. Power is easily increased to 111HP and 195lb ft of torque by swapping in the venerable 200tdi (I have the unit I purchased for it available). I also have an upgraded boost pin and full size Allisport intercooler available to shove the powerband beyond the stock threshold.
This Defender was purpose built for a research company in the UK but will make someone an excellent camper. They obviously didn’t use it much given the low mileage. The chassis has superficial corrosion but not the rot that plagues most Land Rovers of this vintage.
My original plan was to lower the roof back down to its stock configuration and build it out but I ended up with a 300tdi Defender 130 recently. I have all of the upgrades and modifications that were intended for this truck available for purchase separately.
Available upgrades:
New Safety Devices 3 door 110 roll cage (would require lowering of roof)
New Asfir winch bumpers (pre-welding, raw steel)
New NAS rear bumper (raw steel)
New Terrafirma 2” lift suspension with damper
New take-off Wolf wheels with Goodyear Wrangler MT/R’s
New front and rear skid plates
New Salisbury drum to disc brake conversion
New factory Puma hood with all hardware
New take-off Puma high back seats with headrests
200tdi turbo diesel with the following:
Full rebuild kit with new pistons
Upgraded boost pin
New Allisport full length intercooler
New Allisport full length XL radiator
New Allisport intercooler/radiator frame
New Allisport intercooler hoses
New set of new replacement cooling/heater hoses
New Britpart SS exhaust
Notes on the camper conversion:
The 110 was repainted at the time of the conversion and the respray is an 8/10
There is a single light wired with a switch in the back right of the cargo area
The original roof is uncut and can be lowered back down to stock configuration by removing the vertical extension panels
The original headliner is still intact in the roof
The black-out panels can be easily removed from the 3 rear windows
Thank you all!
