1958 Land Rover Other Series 1 88 Description

I am selling my 1958 Land Rover Series I. 1958 was the last year for the Series I cars, and is the second year of the 88's, which is the length in inches of the wheelbase that existed for 25 years. It was a crossiver year from the SeriesI to SeriesII & this truck was a later production '58 so while it is a Series1, it is equipped with the better 2.25L motor. Recent fluids flush & belt & water pump replacement. I drove it from NJ to Eastern LI & while it is not the ideal highway machine, it drove flawlessly the entire way. It only has a 2.25L I4 putting out ~70hp. This LR is impressive off road, especially in the sand.
This car is not restored, but is a very honest example that runs flawlessly. It fires the first time on a 1/2 crank with the starter. The paint is good, there is some chipping the rear tub, some cracking around the side mirrors on the front fenders.
The bulkhead is solid and the chassis is in very good shape as well. The paint is not perfect. It has some chipping in the bed. A little bubbling on the bottom of the doors and some cracking by the mirrors. It still turns heads wherever it goes.
This car is fully U.S. legal and currently registered in NY. You will love this truck!!
