1989 Land Rover Range Rover Description

Here is a shop project that I started 8 years ago and am very upset with myself for not finishing...starts and runs great, sounds like a v8 Range Rover should. I built this truck to use as my Land Rover repair shop runaround as well as to take to the local Land Rover meets with my kids. This truck should go just about anywhere with its super light weight and lots of good chevy 350 power. I made the rear seating for my kids so that it can be securely bolted in to the back and seat belts can be secured. The back section of the seat folds down when not in use or the seat unit itself can tumble forward for extra cargo space or easily removed completely with 4 bolts.I was going to put a roll hoop in the back in it but never got around to it...the complete rear tub is lined with heavy gauge metal tread plate to make it super sturdy and the top edges are the same. I installed a decent set of race style cloth seats in it for extra 4 wheeling support and comfort and they are reclineable and also slide back or forwards.. The Chevy 350 conversion kit is from Marks adaptors in Australia and cost me over $3000 on its own just for the kit. I cut the rear section off the body and reran all of the wiring to the rear tail lights etc and all lights work. I left enough room behind the seats so that I can store a toolbox etc inside secured but also left enough room in the back section so I could load my motorcycle into it. Another reason why I made the back section out of 1/4" steel plate, so I could weld securing hooks in.. the drivers seat has been in this truck while it has sat outside for 2 years now and is faded by comparison to the passengers seat I recently installed, very easily rectified with a can of fabric spray paint. Runs and drives excellent like a Chevy would, has the original Range Rover automatic transmission, transfer box and 4 wheel drive system. Both power windows work but have been finicky lately due to a lack of use..could do with the centre console replacing as the original is a little beat up. I also have installed a couple of mechanical gauges to monitor temp, charge etc as the factory ones are terribly unreliable. I built this truck to be a reliable, easy to repair awesome 4 wheeler or mud truck. I will post up a YouTube video of it starting and running etc shortly..look under custom Chevy 350 Range Rover pickup truck. With a little last little bits and pieces finished this will make such a great truck I can't believe I never finished doing it.. seemed life moved on and the local club wasn't as fun as it used to be and the kids grew up..:(
