2003 Lincoln Aviator Description
Up for auction we have my Lincoln. This truck has served me well for the last several years but has now made it clear its time to move on. Three weeks ago I came home for lunch and everything was fine. After lunch jumped into it, fired right up and felt a vibration at idle. I detect every noise/ vibration. I drove about a mile to work and parked it, restarted it, still felt it. Drove it home at the end of the day, it finally started flashing the CEL and it was for a misfire. The truck has sat since. In the last 3k miles, oil change and alignment. In the last 5k miles, Front/ Read diff and tranny fluid change, brakes all the way around, rear stab links, hood shocks, gate shocks, glass shocks. In the last 10k, rubber, another oil change, battery. In the last 12, wiper blades and another oil change. In the last 2 years (20K or so), all Coil Overs replaced. I think you get the hint, this was maintained. When it needed something, it basically got it. Even the dealer looked at me cross eyed for showing up so often. This truck has its original books, both keys/ remotes, never been smoked in, never towed anything. Carfax shows service at 130,769, 127,129, 126,583, 120,780, 116,920, 116,517, 115,020, 112,591, 112,461, 112,096, 111,737, 110,411, 106,662, 105,977, 104,496, 104,102, 103,009, 101,928 to show how well it was maintained.
The bad, something causing it to mis. I wouldn't intend on driving it any further than to a hauler. Moonroof- when parked out in the direct FL heat, sometimes doesn't work, parked in the garage/ shade works fine. CD changer, like them all it has my disks and won't ready. Radio and wheel controls work fine. DVD player does work but I didn't try to use the one pair of headphones I have. Cracked piece on the tailgate- EVERY Explorer, Mountaineer, Aviator does. Driver seat shows wear. Second row pass side seat has some blue on it (Marshalls bag in the hot FL heat.) Cooling/ heated seats are inop. I believe this is everything good, bad, and ugly. The truck is as is where is and has never left me stranded. If I wasn't already toying around with the idea of upgrading I wouldn't be selling.
