Personal Description from Owner
The engine is the original, 317 cu inFlatheadV-8, that was standard in the 1950 Lincolns. I did not try to start the car but I had a mechanic look at it and he stated the engine is not seized. I recommend rebuilding the engine but it might not need it.
Automatic transmission, 4 spd hydra-matic transmission, don't know much more about it.
The paint is old and flaking and is in need of a repainting. There are a few major dents on the roof and one on the fender but they appear to be repairable.
I am a private seller, not a car dealer. This is my own vehicle in which I hold a clear California Title. I bought to car to make it into a modified car (much like the photo of the gray Lincoln in the pictures above) but decided to pursue restoring 2 other cars, a Skylark and an El Camino. I grudgingly decided to part with my Lincoln, but if it were a Ferrari I would keep it. Ha
I do understand it is difficult to purchase a vehicle by pictures alone. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have. It does require a leap of faith and I think you will be happy with the Lincoln. There are some major dents and rust but with work it is repairable and in the end it will be totally worth it.
In my opinion, the Lincoln needs a major overhaul, paint, body, interior, engine work, plus the other mechanical items but all parts are available. The good thing is there is nothing major missing. Glass is in good shape. Fix the dents and cut out the common rust areas, weld in readily available panels, and you have a good foundation to begin with.
The door panels are off and in the trunk and the hubcaps with emblems are in the trunk as well. Also the radio and the rear fender skirts. So overall and outstanding candidate to restore!
I recommend an engine rebuild on the original Flathead V-8 and reupholster the interior…it’ll be a beautiful car once again! The only thing I identified as not-repairable is the power window mechanisms is shot. I did find a newer, updated design for a replacement and it is affordable on eBay.
If you live in the Southern California area, I can deliver for a small fee (depends on distance).
Thank You for your viewing! Bid away!!!
I welcome any offers from any country.
