2004 Mazda Mazda6 S Sedan 4-Door Description
I recently purchased this car before me and my wife got word that we are expecting our first child. Unfortunately we will need a larger vehicle for added space, and an automatic transmission for comfort and convenience. On to details about the car.
The Good:
- New brake rotors and pads
- New drive axles
- New ABS sensors on front wheels
- New spark plugs
- New coil packs (All 6 replaced)
- New PCV valve
- New air filter
- New water pump
- New clutch kit
- Fresh oil & filter change
- New throttle body
- New mass airflow sensor
- Seafoam and Rislone oil treatment
- Leather in great shape for a 12 year old car
- Transmission is in great shape and shifts smooth
The Bad:Well, there isn't really too much to list here, but I've been on eBay for 17 years and always kept it honest, so I will describe in details what's wrong with the car both mechanically, and aesthetically.Aesthetics: The car's exterior is for the most part, is in good condition except for a few dings and dents normal for a car this age. Parts of the headliner have started to lose their adhesion to the main ceiling panel and are a bit "droopy". I assume some spray adhesive and some patience can fix that problem. As noted for most older Mazda 6s, the console message center has a couple missing characters for when the radio is in use. The Climate control does not seem to be affected, only the radio and clock.
Mechanical: The car has a very random "tick" coming from valvetrain accompanied with an on and off oil light when idling. As far as the oil light problem, I checked the oil many times and the car does not seem to be burning any oil, indicating the car might need the oil pressure sender replaced (cheap fix). As for the ticking, we had a trusted family mechanic look at it, and he told us that it's a noisy hydraulic lifter that needs adjustment, but some oil treatment products out there work very well to alleviate and sometimes completely fix the situation. I purchased the car with this condition because I was aware of it being nothing serious that can be easily fixed by spending some time with the car. I obviously no longer have that time available, so passing this opportunity to someone else. The car is driveable and starts normally, but I would not recommend driving long distances until the car is 100%.
Title is currently electronic and will be obtained upon sale. I am listing this car for a quick sale so the price has already been aggressively discounted. Please make reasonable offers.
