2004 Mazda RX-8 Description
2004 Mazda RX-8 Coupe 4-Door 1.3L 6-speed Manual Transmission
Please take the time to read the entire listing and view all the pictures. I try to describe the vehicle to the best of my ability but the pictures will give you a better idea of the vehicle's overall condition. The time has come for me to sell my beloved Mazda RX-8. I have owned this vehicle for almost 7 years but it is time to let it go. I drive 33 miles to work (one way) so this is not a practical car for me at the moment. I have taken good care of this vehicle and it works and looks great! I prefer local pickup but if interested, out of state buyer will befully responsible for shipping arrangements.
I have made some cosmetic changes to the car, they are listed below:
- Volk GTS Titanium Gunmetal Phantom Edition Wheels (18x8 +49) - Bought for $1,500 a few years ago
- OEM appearance package (spoiler, front air dam, side aero flares, rear aero flares)
- Volk Rays 35MM Lug Nuts 12x1.5 (gunmetal)
- R1 Concepts Drilled/Slotted Premium Series Brake rotors (front & rear)
- Hawk HPS Brake Pads (front) - Standard brake pads in rear (rear ones recently replaced)
- Mazdaspeed front strut bar
- Racing Beat oil cooler and radiator screens <a href="http://www.racingbeat.com/RX8/Cooling-System/11805.html">
- RotaryFX fender vents painted in Titanium Gray to match the rest of the car
- K&N air filter
- Mazda RX-8 Black Pearl License Plate Frame
- Chrome mirrored bulb set for Clear Side Markers
- Clear Side markers
- New battery (replaced on 04/03/16) - not the one shown in pictures, that one needed replacement.
- Blue NGK Spark Plug Wire Set
- NGK Iridium Spark Plugs (tune up completed on 04/07/16 - new spark plugs, wires and OEM coils)
- New starter
- Aluminum Gunmetal Oil Cap
- OEM Fog Light set
Pros:
Car has a Clean Title on hand. It
has had regular maintenance done consistently (last tune-up done on 04/07/16, which included OEM coils, NGK Iridium Spark Plugs, NGK spark plug wires and a new starter), I have the majority of service records available dating back to 2009. Oil was changed every 3,000 miles.I recently replaced the clutch kit and installed a NEW clutch pedal (pedal was replaced on 02/06) to avoid the issue described here: <a href="http://www.rx8club.com/race-roots-134/clutch-pedal-issues-solutions-explanations-194975/"> so both the clutch and the pedal are brand new.
As stated above, the car has around 97,500 miles on it at the moment, this number will go up a bit since I am still driving it. The original engine was replaced by Mazda under warranty, so the new engine has around 52,684 miles on it. All paperwork related to this replacement will be included.
Interior shows normal wear (only tear is in the shift boot, which has a small hole, see picture), the paint still shines like new.I recently replaced both the driver and passenger side sun visors. They are both in great condition.
Car comes with spare tire kit.All but one recall have been completed, the last one was done in July, 2015 (replaced driver side air bag inflator - this was a temporary fix according to Mazda). Will complete latest/final fix for this recall, since I just received the letter from Mazda announcing there is a final fix.
Car includes two sets of keys + FOBs and a valet key, so a total of three keys and 2 FOBs. Owner's manual is also included.
I will even include two small bottles of Titanium Gray Touch up Paint (29Y)Cons:
The heater/AC (temperature) control is a bit quirky, this is a known issue with these cars, it is a simple fix but I honestly have not had the time to repair it myself. You can find a description, as well as a solution to this known problem in this link: <a href="http://www.rx8club.com/series-i-do-yourself-forum-73/diy-no-heat-repair-heater-control-158200/">. The A/C - heater unit itself works without any problems.
Tires are in OK condition but the rear ones might need replacement. (3/32 or 4/32 thread depth).
There is a small stain on the front passenger seat (see pictures) and a small area behind the rear driver's side wheel where the paint was scratched off (see pictures as well). Nothing big but worth mentioning.
Wheels also show scratches and normal wear, see pictures for a better idea of their condition.
Small dings here and there (minimal but all will be shown in pictures) and shift knob shows normal wear.MAKE AN OFFER!
