1977 Mercedes-Benz 400-Series 6.9 Description

This is one of the rare 1977 6.9 Mercedes Benz cars. Imported from Germany. Former owner was the Ambassador to Germany. I bought it from a friend in 1995. Over the last ten years it has been parked out-back and not stored well. I have all records and documents that date back to 1990. We always had to do a special vin certificate on it for smog. It has been referred to as "Grey Market". The last time we got it running was in 2014. In 2015 I tried with help of my mechanic and failed. He was able to confirm a problem with the fuel pump after getting the power to it... other things like hoses need replaced... Body is rusted... Tires are shot and barely hold air... What we think it needs is a new owner to bring it back. Motor is good. It has doe skin seats and other upgrades. It most likely has all the bells and whistles... I consider this one "Good for Parts", or, "A Real Fixer-Upper". For "Pick-up" only. A sweet find for someone who knows how good this feels to drive! It took us up the mountain in white-out snow storms to Cripple Creek from Colorado Springs many-a-winters-day... I have decided to part-with-it rather than bring-it-back. You may need it for the motor or other parts. Maybe you can be the one to bring-it-back! I have done my best to describe my old Mercedes...
