2005 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class Description

Here is a well-cared-for garage-kept Mercedes BenzSportster SL55 AMG. It is loaded with the usual top-of-the-line options and more. Keyless Go, Navigation, tilt/telescopic steering wheel, and way too many other options to list.
The SL55 AMG is one super-performing car! It not only has outstanding looks and sex appeal but it is a rocket on wheels. The nearly 500 HP supercharged V-8 will propel you to 0-60 in about 4 seconds and it is such a thrill to drive! Put the top down, press hard on the accelerator, and prepare for a near orgasmic experience. Pull up in this awesome vehicle and heads will turn.
This car is accident-free. Much of the usual expensive repairs that are needed with a Mercedes of this mileage have been done... if you are considering buying a similar car it would benefit you to be sure these things have been addressed or you could be looking at very large repair costs.
The troublesome suspension system that is sure to be an expensive repair has already been addressed and this car has had a completely new trouble-free system installed that will not cause any trouble for tens of thousands of miles. Both front and rear batteries have been recently replaced. The A/C system has been reconditioned. The tires are good. The transmission has recently been overhauled. Whenever something was not operating properly, the issue was addressed.
The one thing that I have not had a chance to take care of is a relatively minor one. The screen on the navigation and audio system has darkened and although the readings are still visible, it is something that I have been meaning to get taken care of but have not yet done. The navigation and audio systems on these cars are not the best that are available today and upgrading the map data is not cost effective. If I were going to keep the car I would replace the system with another type that would be much better. I've looked into this and there are systems that will greatly improve the sound quality of the audio system and provide a much better and newer navigation system for about $600-800. I'd highly recommend this upgrade.
Another thing I feel compelled to mention is that these cars sit very low in the front and if you are not extremely careful, you will sometimes scrape the curb stops in parking spots. I have the usual minor scrapes that are not easily seen unless you were to bend over and look at the under front side. I've priced this vehicle very reasonably to reflect the cost of these possible repairs and anything else that might be an issue to you.
I have tried to give you an honest evaluation. I've really enjoyed this supercar and it's brought many hours of pleasure, pride, and excitement but it's time for me to upgrade. I'm confident the next owner will be as excited about it as I have been.
