2008 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class Base Convertible 2-Door Description

For sale is a beautiful2008 Mercedes Benz SL55 AMG with only 17,000 original miles and an MSRP of $139,000.
In 2008 Mercedes only exported 464 SL55s into the USA making this car incredibly rare at 1 of 464 made. Sadly 2008 was the final and best year for the SL55 AMG. In 2007 the SL received a host of upgrades over the previous version of the car. Some of the notable upgrades include a bump in power to 510 horsepower at 6,100 RPM / 531 ft-lbs of torque at 2,600 RPM, new front bumper design, revised grill, LED tail lights, 2-piece brake larger brake rotors, suspension revisions, and steering rack revisions. All of these minorchanges add up in a big way making this car much more complaint and refined.
The SL55 has supercar power but is extremelyeasyand pleasantto live with on day to day basis. The exhaust note from the big supercharged 5.4 liter V8 is docile when driving around town but sounds gloriouswith a deep rumble when you put your foot down.If you're a fan of classic muscle cars, you'll love the neck snapping torque that this engine produces. Being supercharged, the power comes on instantly wherein a turbocharged car you experience turbo lag as you have to wait forthe turbo to spool. The massive6 piston calipers bring this car down from speed with no brake fade quickly. The ride quality is a perfect compromise between sporty and luxurious. On the highway youcan cruise in the comfortsetting which soaks up the bumps and is very comfortable. When you're feeling sporty you can press the ABC Sport (Active Body Control) button which then tightens up the suspension, steering, and gear change response. It really does have a Jekyll/Hyde dual personality
The interior in the SL is sublime place to be. For starters, the Nappa leather covered sports seats are fitted with heated/cooled and massaging options. The Nappa leather is an upgraded option over the standard leather and the best way that I can describeit wouldbe to say that they feel buttery soft. There is a Bose sound system equippedwith a six disc CD changer and XM satellite radio that sounds great. It gets very loud with lots of bass for whenever you have the convertible top down. The carbonfiber trim on the door panels and center console remind you that you are in something special. Two of my favorite options on the car are the glass panoramic roof and Keyless Go system. Ever with the convertible top in the up position, you still get that feeling of being outside with a huge glass panel above your head. With the Keyless Go, you never have to take the key out of your pocket. You simply walk up to the car with the key in your pocket, pull on the door handle to unlock, and then press the engine start/stop button on the gear shift to start the car. This car is also fitted with the extremely expensive2-piece forged AMG wheels and Michelintires. These wheels were a very expensiveoption from the factory at around $6,000 for the set.
In a world filled with Corvettes and Mustangs, this car really stands out and still gets tons of attention. The best description I could labelthis car with would be to call it the gentleman's hotrod. These cars are getting harder and harder to come by, especiallywith incrediblylow miles. I truly believe that this is one of the best (if not the best) examples of a late model SL55 currently for sale. With literally only 464 2008 SL55s produced, you can imagine how slim the chances of coming across another one in this condition are.I have the clean/clear title in hand and ready to go, there is no lien/loan against this car.
