NO RESERVE...CHROME AMG WHEELS...READ DESCRIPTION
1998 Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class -- Description
Hello and thank you for looking at my auction. My name is Joe and I sell vehicles differently than most dealers. Buying your next car or truck through one of my NO RESERVE auctions is the best way to take the games out of your next automotive purchase. I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that I am not a mechanic. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to read this entire description as well as our Terms & Conditions carefully BEFORE asking questions or placing a bid as most answers can be found in at least one of those places. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. Up for a NO RESERVE auction is a 1998 Mercedes-Benz CLK320 with just 110k miles. I wold rate the exterior of this CLK to be in AVERAGE CONDITION for its age and mileage. As you can see, this is a decent looking coupe. The blue finish shines well but isn't perfect. As with any older vehicle, please expect a few flaws and imperfections commensurate with age and mileage. On this specific CLK, there are a few spots where the paint doesn't shine as nicely as others as well as a few normal scuffs and scrapes from age. The body lines are nice and straight. The hood, doors and trunk all open and close easily. The little rod that holds the driver's door open is broken...so it will close if the vehicle is leaning that direction. All of the glass and lenses are intact. The 18" chrome AMG wheels show well and are wrapped in a nice set of rubber with good tread all around. Please take your time and check out each of the photos carefully. I would also rate the interior of this CLK to be in AVERAGE CONDITION for it's age and mileage. The door cards are acceptable for their age. The carpets are clean and show no excessive wear. The leather seats are soft, supple and also show no excessive wear. The dash and headliner are clean. The power windows work properly. The power sunroof does not. As you can see in the photos, it is not completely closed...and this is how it stays. Also, the rear sunshade will not lower. The radio is original and sounds fine. The climate control sytem is fully automatic, too. The heater works well but the air conditioner will need charged or serviced as it does not blow cold air. The trunk is spacious and clean. Mechanically, this CLK320 appears to be in good running and driving condition. The 3.2L V6 starts easily and runs smoothly. I didn't notice any leaks and the engine does not smoke. It is worth noting that this CLK320 has an audible "tap" coming from the engine. It sounds like a lifter to me. It does quiet down after the car runs and warms up, but it is still clearly audible...just not as loud as when it's cold. The engine keeps perfect temperauture and makes good power. The automatic transmission engages smoothly and shifts properly with no issues. My only other complaint is a light vibration in the steering wheel at highway speeds. Other than that, she gets around pretty well for an old girl. Please understand that this CLK is far from perfect and will need a few small things right away. However, you should be able to drive it anywhere. I'd get right on closing that sunroof. The rest, you can pick at over time if you want. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.
