1982 Mercedes-Benz 300-Series 300D Turbo Diesel Description

This 1982 Mercedes-Benz 300D Turbo has 128K miles. I am the 4th owner. The 3rd owner, bought it, went through it and flipped it. It has resided in FL its whole life and was brought to MI this month. Driven 1300 miles with no issues. I have the original window sticker, pre-delivery inspection sheet, stamped service book, some service records, an accident-free Carfax, and a clean MI title.

There is no rust anywhere on it, and the paint is original. The Driver side front fender looks like it was painted at some point, but there is no evidence of any body repairs or damage. There is one area below the passenger door handle that has bubbling but has been addressed (see pic)

Tires are in good condition, front ones are non-matching (new set from Discount Tire is $105 mounted and balanced) Original loop carpeting is clean and is covered with new Mercedes matching color floor mats. Rest of the interior is in great shape given the age of the car.

This example was originally optioned with central locking, a Becker Europa cassette stereo, and a power sunroof, allof which function properly. The dashboard is perfect with no cracks.

The 3.0 liter OM617 five-cylinder turbo diesel engine is mated to an automatic transmission and was serviced with new motor mounts, fluids, filters, fan belts, and hoses. Battery appears to be new. Rear brakes look like new, front brakes are still in good shape. It runs and drives great and I would not hesitate driving it across country again.

Air Conditioning is non functioning. The blower works fine. I had it checked and it needs a new compressor. You can price a used compressor online or at a junk yard. I did not price it because I have no intention of fixing it. I just open the sunroof and enjoy the fresh air.
