1999 Mercedes-Benz C-Class C43 AMG Description

"Also created by AMG, the C43 is a German embodiment of one of the grandest traditions in performance tuning: a big engine in a small car. The engine in question is the 4.3-liter (260 cu. in.)aluminum alloy V8 first introduced in the 1998 E430 and also found in the newly-introduced CLK430 coupe. In those cars, it develops a respectable 275 horsepower. In C43 tune, a healthy 302 horses are found under the unassuming C-Class hood. The engine is light for a large V8; the C43 weighs only 132 pounds more than a C280. As a result, weight distribution is not adversely affected. Ultra-low profile tires mounted on 17-inch AMG wheels and other suspension modifications improve cornering abilities with little reduction in ride comfort.

Only 1500 C43s were made over a three-year period, with the bulk of production in the 1999 model year.

Unlike many "tuner cars", the C43 is perfectly acceptable as daily transportation. It is comfortable, relatively quiet (except for a wonderful V8 growl), and roomy enough for four people. It is a compliment to the solidity of the C-Class chassis structure that it works so well".

Up for sale is my fathers 99 mercedes c43 amg.

This car was originally bought as a father and son project. we now need to clear out the backyard hence the reason why it is being sold.
We originally purchased this car last year with the hopes of restoring it. it currently has 209k miles and the motor does run very well. I drove the car a few times and am happy to say that the transmission shifts great and the v8 pulls smooth through any gear.
The car had the typical rust on the door panels like any of the c classes from the era. We proceeded to replace the affected doors with rust free ones.
Rear passenger quarter was hit by the previous owner and he poorly attempted to fix it. this quarter will need to be addressed and the car will also need a new bumper. I pulled a VIN check and the title status is clear.
What it needs:-driver side indicator.
-Motor mounts.-window switch may need to be looked at.-fan clutch
-Brakes need to be bled-there is a ticking sound coming from a sensor on the driver side of the engine. replaced the sensor a few times but it always seems to come back eventually . (it is not a valve sound).
-the door cards are all coming with the car and just needs to be mounted back on the doors.
-rear passenger quarter needs to be fixed
-rear bumper cover needs to be replaced
-interior will need to be either redone or simply replaced from seats from a junkyard.parts for this car are readily available as it shares a lot of the same parts found on any c class from that era. including the complete interior.
- shock mounts
The car has no check engine light on and the airbag light is on due to a sensor underneath the passenger seat. this car is a great project that will not be requiring much in order to be back on the road. She runs very well and am very confident she has a lot of trouble free miles to go. there is no smoke from the engine, no valve noise, no slippage from the transmission and absolutely no oil leak of any sort. power steering and abs works great. starts on a dime. This car mainly needs cosmetic things. mechanically it's a solid car that is ready to go.
Purchased the car from NH where no title was needed to register a car. I do however have a registration and a bill of sale to go with the car.
Buyer will be responsible for shipping.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have. Bid with confidence. Thank you!
