1997 Mercedes Benz c230 - low miles/full disclosure
1997 Mercedes-Benz 200-Series Description
1997 Mercedes Benz c230 for sale - 118,000 miles
This vehicle Runs and Drives. There is a lot of life left in this Mercedes. The vehicle sat for about two years and there are some issues with it which I will disclose fully to the best of my knowledge:
Computer codes:1. Camshaft Position Sensor - ($75 part at AutoHaus, easily accessible for swap out)2. Misfire in Cylinder #2 - could be simple as a spark plug or wire, but maybe not3. Fuel Tank Level Sensor - fuel gauge isn't working properly4. Fuel Trim
The car drives well except there is a slight shimmy in the steering only around 60-63 mph (probably tire, one in the front has a slow leak but will pump back up for several days). Once out of every ten or so times you drive it, the car will start to run rough. If I pull over, turn off the car and turn it back on again, this problem goes away (Camshaft Position Sensor is a likely cause according to forum I've read).
There is also some rust on the front door panels, as seen in the photos, but not really elsewhere. No leaks that I have seen. A/C works. Radio/Cassette works. One key, but I can acquire a second soon and will get that to you. Brakes good. New Battery.
I didn't get a picture of the odometer but I don't think it has gone over 118,000 yet, if so only just.
Car comes with a Haynes Repair Manual for this model, and a Thule Roof Rack.
Vehicle is in Putnam Valley, NY. One hour drive from New York City. I am in the city and would need to arrange to get you the title, so you can get plates and registration if you want to drive it away.
Don't you wish everyone was dumb enough to tell you what's wrong with the used car you're buying?
