THE BAD
3rd owner - I acquired the vehicle two years ago when the previous owner had a stroke and could no longer drive it. It sat in his garage for 6 months before I discovered it. As a result the battery was dead and there were numerous low-voltage faults in the system. I took it to a certified independent Mercedes shop who installed replacement batteries (both), cleared the fault codes, and did a thorough mechanical inspection. As a result of that inspection they also replaced the transmission valve body with a new (not rebuilt) one, replaced all four brakes, and installed a new alternator. They further recommended that due to its age, all the rubber bushings be replaced including the motor mounts. Otherwise there are no other mechanical conditions needing attention.
THE UGLY
This is a 13 year old car and daily driver (for at least part of that time) - it is NOT in concourse condition. There are numerous minor imperfections in both the finish and the interior such as small rock chips in the front bumper area, wear and discoloration of some of the interior leather, the cup holders have small cracks, two vent knobs are missing - all minor things. I freelance for an auto inspection company and have available to serious buyers a complete 18-point inspection report along with 100+ detailed photos in DropBox. Just contact me and I will send you the report.
