1984 Mercedes-Benz 190-Series 190D Description

I've owned this car for about 18 months and used it to get back and forth to work to save fuel. I've bought something else and hate seeing this one sit not being loved. These are legendary in their reliability, and this one is no exception. It's always started, in freezing cold and blazing hot. Always runs perfectly. Not a hiccup, not a hesitation. It had been sitting for several years when I bought it, and I did some work to get it up for daily driving.
Brand New windshield -- $350
Brakes - Drilled and slotted rotors, carbon ceramic pads - about 1,000 miles ago -- $400
New clutch - about 12,000 miles ago -- $200
I just didn't need anything else. It goes where you tell it. Someone with a bit more time could cheaply and easily turn this into a $5,000 classic, much sought after, 190D... and drive it another 300,000 miles without a problem. These are well known to pass 500,000 miles without any problems. When I changed the clutch, it looked like the original I was pulling out! The sunroof works like it's new!
The rear doors do not open from the outside.
The speedometer and in dash clock work, but no fuel gauge or tachometer. Oil pressure does, but just hangs around max.
For fuel, needs refilling every 350 miles or so, 10 gallon tank.
A new instrument cluster will likely fix this. They go for $100-250 used.
Needs a paint job. It's cracked and holds dirt.
Front tires are OK, rear tires need help. I had custom white 18" wheels on this and just put the stock ones back on it. They are available separately.
Comes with an extra passenger side front door. I'm not sure why, the guy who sold me the car just gave it to me, but the one on the car is fine. It's yours, too.
This is a NON-turbo 2.0 190D - so it's no hot-rod. Medical issues force me to get rid of it as a project, I can't expend the energy or time to bring it to full glory. These actually still bluebook for $3000+ - it's a potentially great investment for someone who loves Mercedes as much as I do and understands the value and rarity of these 190s.
Any questions or if you want to come check it out, my number is 404-786-0379 - the car is located in Douglasville, GA.
I don't deal in junk or scam and my feedback proves it. Thanks for looking!
