1956 Mercury Montclair Convertible
1956 Mercury montclair Description
This car was bought in 70's out west, I believe the family said Montana or Utah. I've never seen a more solid rust-free car of this age before. It sat for many years before I bought it. What I've done besides a little clean-up: Oil and filter, trany service filter & fluid, carb kit, fuel pump, battery, valve adjustment, front end alignment. Later I decided to upgrade intake and carb with later intake and economy holley 390 carburetor with electric choke (near $500). Also later distributor, new cap and rotor and points. Car has continental kit and fender skirts, gorgeous car. I don't think you can find any nicer or solid without being a frame-off showcar. I'm pricing the car about half of what those cars are bringing. Runs and drives good. Like most old mercs and fords of this era, radio doesn't work but the tubes do light up. Shouldn't take much work. Clock works half the time. All lights work, even reverse lights. Other than radio, I don't know of anything it needs. Could use a little detail under hood but still looks good. This is a beautiful car, gets alot of attention. I know they are rare and I know what they are bringing. Not looking for anything, but possible trade. Pictures say it all. Buying as is. No paypal. Money transfer or cash. No personal checks. No texting, won't answer them. Car is listed locally reserve right to end auction without notice. Buyer pays shipping, must be picked up within 14 days of close of auction. Vehicle will not be released until funds are received.
