1968 Mercury Cougar XR-7 GT 390 4V Description
1968MercuryCougar XR-7 GT 390 V4, C6 Heavy-Duty - Real Deal S Code XR-7 GT 390 V4 - Has the correct GT 390 V4 - Car has been in storage for many years. With a complete tune up and changing all the fluids the motor should run. several years ago it was taken to a Cougar shop in Mesa AZ and they checked out the motor. They got the motor to start up and run, they never drove it, just wanted to make sure the motor ran and I have the detailed receipt from the shop that you will get with the car along with other receipts and paper work.
The original color is Sea Foam Green. Has a very old paint job in fair shape, it shows it's age. Over all the body is fairly straight, has it's small dings and scratches and bumps. The car does have some rust in places, like the front edge of the hood, the passenger rear quarter inner lip were the stainless wheel molding is, has some small pin holes, The rest of the quarter looks fine, The rear deck lid has some surface rust, The drivers side rare quarter has some bubbling and some small rust holes. the drivers side door down low in the front has some small bubbling and some small pin holes. The front floors have some rust holes coming through on both passenger and drivers side floors. Both torque boxes have some rust. Both inner doors in the front corners have some small rust holes, the bottom of the doors are scaly but I don't see any major rust hole popping through. The trunk looks to be in fair shape, still has the Sequential turn signal harness in the trunk. The rest of the car looks fine to the best of my knowledge. A good part of the rust I was taking about is a easy fix with metal patch panels. Most of this stuff I'm talking about will be in my detailed pictures I have posted.
The original interior is Dark Ivy Gold Levant Grain Vinyl & Dark Ivy Gold Leather, rare desirable combination. The interior is pretty aged and it will need to be gone through. It is missing some parts like the gauges and door panels also dash pad. It came with factory Buckets with Console, tach and gauges, very rare Tilt Away steering column with wood grain steering wheel. A good part of Tilt Away steering columns came in Shelby's. Also has remote drivers side mirror, Factory Air Conditioning, missing compressor and condenser. Looks like it had a overhead console too. All the glass looks to be in pretty fair shape, very usable. There was a lot of parts restored, chromed, power coated that you can see in the detailed posted pictures. A good part of the parts you don't see on the car were taken off and restored, you can see the pile of parts that were restored in my detailed posted pictures.
The1968MercuryCougar XR-7 GT 390 V4, C6 Heavy-Duty also came with front Power Disc Brakes, Power steering, 9 inch rear end.
