2003 Mini Cooper S Description
Selling my sweet R53. 2003. Build 03/2003. 150,500 miles. I still drive it every 2-3 days, so mileage will increase slightly with time. Sunroof, Heated Leather seats, 17" wheels, Harmon Kardon stereo, HID Xenon's,
Enthusiast Owned. I've worked hard to get it tuned and sorted out.
I have been working through the whole car with the plan to keep it long term, but I have a chance to buy a used Tesla for a great price and just can't pass that up.
Car is in Maryland. I had the Maryland State inspection done on October 20, 2016. That is good for 90 days. No need to get the state inspection again before getting it titled in Maryland if you do it within the 90 days.
Inspections are welcome. Even encouraged. I am willing to meet an inspector if you want to use an inspection service.
This car has been tuned for 93 octane fuel.
You MUST use 93 octane.
Modifications and upgrades:
- Tuned by Jan of Revolution Motor Works (RMW) (at a tune day at Helix Motorsports) to produce 210 HP and 160 ft-lb of Torque. Real dyno measured HP! Torque curve is now very flat, doesn't drop off like the stock MINI.
- Colder plugs
- 550cc Bosch injectors
- 15% pulley
- RMW Street Cam with all new rockers/valve lash adjusters
- R56 Front Brakes (same size as the JCW kit).
- ATI superdamper
- New rotors and EBC Redstuff pads all around.
- Cold Air Intake
- Borla Cat Back Exhaust
- Strut Tower Protectors
- X-brace
- Interior LED upgrades
- Steigemeyer rebuilt supercharger with their porting service
- Heated seats
- R56 wipers
- Euro "aspherical" side view mirrors (the outer part of the side view mirrors are wide angle)
Repairs/Maintenance done in the last two years
- New hoses (heater, cooling and AC)
- Entire front suspension (struts, bushings, ball joints, tie rods, etc)
- Entire timing (chain, guides, tensioner)
- New Alternator
- New Starter
- New AC Compressor, Condenser, Drier, Expansion Valve
- New engine/tranny mounts
- New engine fan
- Rebooted both front axles
- New wheel bearings
- New oxygen sensors (pre and post cat)
- New fuel filter
- New parking brake cables
- New oil pump
- Power steering pump was replaced before the recall.
- Power steering pump fan was replaced and later R53 fan duct installed
- New Belt tensioner and undersized belt
- Replaced windshield (old one was pitted), and replaced exterior A-pillar black trim pieces
- New Battery
- New LuK clutch, dual-mass flywheel, throw-out bearing
- New shift nob (ebay won't let me spell it correctly) and shifter boot
The bad:
- Has typical dings for its age. Barely noticeable from 10 feet away, but obvious up close. The driver door ding is the worst.
- Both bumpers have some marks.
- Scratches across the front of the roof (like someone dragged a box) - I touched them up to prevent rust but if definitely looks like it was touched up.
- Wheels have some curb rash.
