This is a great car for my wife and I, we recently purchased a SUV for work, and decided to sell this car we love so much. We took care this car like our baby, and wish you, the new owner can do the same as well. I am very selective on who can work on this car, and over the years, I have developed a great friendship with Ed of MINI World located in Sun Valley. He and his team has been keeping my car in the best condition at all time. Below are a few of the investment we made into this car, so that you know the real value of what you are buying.
--TRANSMISSIONS:
if you are buying GEN 1 MINI Cooper (2001-2006), you should google the transmission problems. It has been multiple class action lawsuit filed against MINI North America on "shoddy" automatic transmissions in first-generation MINI's. I guarantee you that every MINI cooper with CVT transmission will start to break down as early as 60K miles. To rebuilt the transmission, it cost you minimum $5,000. I was one of the victim, and had spent that $5K for you when the car reached to 90K miles. My transmission re-built was done by MINI WORLD in Sun Valley. I suggest you to not buy any used GEN 1 mini did not have transmission re-built, or budget additional $5K.
--RADIATOR
Last summer was Hot, so was my car. I have Ed flushed entire system and it gets much better. But eventually I have the whole Radiator system replaced. As the picture shown, the who radiator is new, and I also upgraded the coolant reservoir tank to stainless steel. If you know the Mini Cooper, you would know the plastic reservoir simply doesn't last. I went to the extreme and replaced Header Gasket also. The cooling system now is bullet proof, and ready for many hot California summers to come. I invested almost $2,500 so that the car can run as cool as a new car!
--Power Window
A couple month ago the driver side of window stop working, the motor is bad. Instead of fixing just on the driver side, I had Ed to replace on both driver and passenger side. I spent $500.
--Tires, ball joints, tie rods, breaks and Struts
A new set of fours tires were replaced when the car 94K miles, so they are less than 7000 miles, had two rotations at 3500 miles. So the tires are in "like new" conditions. The breaks was replaced 4 months ago by Ed. Ball Joints were all replaced 1 year ago. Tie Rods was replaced while alignment was being done 5 months ago. The struts were upgraded to sports structs, handles very well, the structs mount were also replaced at that time, the LA road will break the MINI if you not taken care the detail.
About 3 years ago, I backed up the car into a pool, the rear right side was dented. No damages on the lights, bumper or whatever. Geico fixed it for me, and they did a outstanding job.
Below are some specification of the car, copies off the stickers, if you any additonal questions, please email or text. NOTE I do not negotiate the price, if you like what you seeing and the appreciate the value of the car, then you should be already happy about the price I provided. We don't need to sell the car.
