Red 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX Sedan 4-Door 2.0L
2006 Mitsubishi Evolution IX Description
I've owned this Evosince it was new in 2006. It has been an excellent and reliable (and fun!)daily driver. But I'm selling to get something a little more family friendly - a song as old as time. I've always run premium fueland used either Mobile 1 or AMSoil for oil changes. I'd have no reservations about using this car as a daily driver for years to come.
PLEASE NOTE: I'm going to try to list all the negative things I can think of so there are no surprises.I'm happy to take pictures, videos, and supply any information I can to make you confident that you know exactly what you're bidding on. Please do not make an offer on the car if you feel that I have not provided enough information.
I've uploaded one video, and can upload more upon request: https://youtu.be/V1kniZaxMJM
Mechanical ConditionPositive: -The drivetrain is performing as good as day one. The engine is quite responsive, building boost and delivering it to the tires without hesitation or slippage. Everything you'd expect from an Evo.Negative: -The active center differential lights all turn on after a few minutes of driving. From what I can tell, the ACD settings still change because the individual light respond to input after a cold start. The ACD pump may need to be replaced. This hasNO noticeableeffect on the feel of the drive.-Shocks are a bit worn. There's some "clunking" when going over roughspots or up/down inclines at an angle.-I recently (as in today - 10/22/16)replaced the EGR valve due to a choppy idle. It sure seems like the new EGR fixed the issue, but I haven't monitored it for very long. The idle issue has never caused the car to stall, nor did itaffect drivingperformance.
Cosmetic ConditionPositive:-The interior has been kept clean. It's a daily driver, so frequently used buttons, elbow rest, etc. show signs of wear. I'm not a smoker, so there's no smoke damage or smell.-Suede seats, and CF trim around dashboard still look nice.Negative:-Damage to the front bumper/air dams (partially missing). This was not from a crash, but from backing up while turning, the bumper caught on some stumps and almost ripped it off. So the skid plate is now missing as well as some of the lower ground-effect details. There's also some holes from the plastic rivets popping off.-Damage to the hood/paint: Gravel damage - chips and small dings. Living in the country...-Rust spotson rear wheel wells: Midwest roads - salt and gravel seem to like that spot.-Faded paint/patch job on rear passenger door: The car was backed into while parked, andthe damage was isolated to the passenger door. The paint job done afterwards has faded.-Faded paint on door handles and rear-view mirrors.-A spot of peeling clear coat on the trunk, rear bumper.-A spot of peeling clear coat on the carbon fiber of the rear wing.-Bent "n" on the "Evolution" trunk badge. Caused by a bike rack.-Scratches on gas cap cover. The gas cap release latch stuck and had to be pried open.-Faded redpaint on the brembo brake calipers.-The wheels have some curb-check marks, as well as some pretty stubborn brake dust.
Other misc stuff, full disclosure
-The hot/cold dial for the climate control is kind of stiff. It still work for adjusting the temperature, but is oddly hard to move.-Tires may need to be replaced soon. Didn't want to put new tires on to sell it since the buyer may want to put special use tires on it anyway..-The middle child seat anchorbracket is missing.-The A/C needs to be recharged soon.-I got aletter from Mitsubishithat a control arm needs to be replaced, but that parts are unavailable. This will be done for free by Mitsubishi, so I'll pass along the letter for reference.-The listed mileage may differ slightly if I need to take the car out to circulate fluids or anything. It's no longer being used as a daily driver. The oil was changed on 10/6/16
If I think of anything else, I'll be sure to add comments.
Minor modifications made:-Megan fabricated tube headers-High-flow (AMS)exhaust from O2 housing back-Injen cold air intake (w/K&N cone filter)-Large rear sway bar with Whitesideball joints-Short throw shifter
