This 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 Spyder comes from near the end of the limited run of retractable-hardtop 3000GTs converted by ASC in 1995 and 1996.

The car remains mechanically stock and includes records for the last 19 years. The car is sold with a clean California title, and is currently registered and smogged.

This was the best car for Mitsubishi, with the convertible top adding an additional $20k to the MSRP. This is probably the most beautiful, sexy looking car I will ever drive. And you could be driving it next!
The car needs some minor TLC:
The anti-lock brakes g-sensor is out
Struts & Brakes will need replacement soon
Small leak on the steering rack
Two small paint blisters near the bottom of the rear bumper (below license plate)
The car was recently inspected and got the green light to be driven from NorCal to Salt Lake City, but the bidder flaked out. The car was featured and sold on 'Bring a Trailer' 2 weeks ago, but the transaction didn't occur. An full 5-page car inspection is available to vehicle bidders.
The interior is MINT - all buttons are working. The interior remains standard with no cracks visible in the dashboard. All buttonsand switches are in working order, seats have no rips and it remainsfitted with the standard post-1994 stereo system with 6-CD changer. Original manuals.

The car has a brand new transmission, installed at the beginning of 2015. Last Owner participated in a group buy to procure the last available transmissions for this vehicle from Mitsubishi in Japan, as there were none available in the US. Ground Zero Performance converted the transmission from Japanese spec to US spec, and Competition Autowerks installed it.

Over its 20 years: The car was in a fender bender (someone ran a stop sign), requiring replacement of the right front fender. The rear bumper was scraped while parked in a parking lot and required repainting. Someone backed into the front bumper when parallel parking, requiring that it be repainted. - Small stuff all taken care of and have paperwork to cover all repairs.

The car has always been garaged. I detail it, or have it detailed, every year. The exterior and interior are in remarkable condition for a 20-year old car with this mileage.
The paint on the rear bumper around the license plate frame has blistered and cracked at two corners.
There are expected minor rock chips in the hood paint, which I've mostly dabbed with touch up paint. Please check the photos for these and the overall excellent condition of the appearance.
I bought this car off the second owner, who had it for over 19 years - All documentation of the car is provided since beginning of time. Unfortunately, job situation and a new baby on the way have conspired with the universe, so that I have to give my unicorn car for adoption.

The car is completely stock with the exception that the rear view mirror is a Donnelly auto-dimming mirror with map lights, compass and temperature (latter not yet hooked up). The auto-dimming fluid had evaporated out of the OEM mirror, which was common with those mirrors. Plus a polished Spyder VR-4 spark plug cover.

I'm including the JNS Engineering Top Link Converter, which communicates with the car's convertible hard top computer for diagnostics and configuration. I bought the optional Evoscan USB-ISO9141 Converter, which allows communication with the car's main computer for diagnostics and configuration. I'll also throw in the JNS Engineering WIFI Top Controller. It comes installed so you can open the roof remotely.
It works with a Python car security system to allow remote control of the convertible top as you approach or leave.

Per that, once placed, a bid cannot be retracted except within a very limited time and then only for exceptional circumstances. PAYMENT AND TRANSFER OF OWNERSHIP
(1) A non-refundable deposit of $800 via PayPal is required within 24 hours of offer acceptance. Failure to make such deposit will cancel the transaction at the sole discretion of Seller.
(2) Buyer must contact Seller within 48 hours to arrange payment of the balance.
(3) The balance of the selling price is required within 7 calendar days of offer acceptance by bank wire transfer, certified check, or bank certified funds. If the sale is not completed within this time, Seller reserves the right to re-list this vehicle, sell it to any other buyer, or take it off the market, in any of which case the non-refundable deposit will be forfeit.
(4) Upon completion of the final payment, Seller will file with the California DMV a "Transfer of Title", "Bill of Sale", and "Notice of Transfer and Release of Liability (NRL)". In California, the buyer is responsible for transfer fees, use taxes, and any other governmental fees.
(5) The vehicle will be made available at Seller's residence in Mountain View, California for pickup by Buyer or Buyer-arranged transport at a time mutually convenient to Seller and Buyer. Buyer must take possession of the vehicle within 10 days of final payment, either in person or through a shipping carrier arranged by Buyer. All shipping charges and insurance are Buyer's responsibility. Seller assumes no responsibility for any damages incurred after the vehicle leaves Seller's premises.
(6) If buyer wants to use an escrow service, buyer will be resposible for those fees.
