1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT Spyder VR-4 Convertible 2-Door Description

This is one incredible vehicle! There were only 38 1996 VR4 Spyders made in this combination of Caracus Red Paint with

Beige leather interior. These cars are very rare and highly collectible. Google "3000GT VR4 Spyder" for more details.

This car started the trend in retractable hardtops now seen in luxury cars like Mercedes, BMW, Lexus, and others. Prior to

the 1995 and 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT Spyders, the last retractable hardtop car made was the 1959 Ford Fairlane 500 Skyliner.

These 3000GT VR4 Spyders were iconic and way ahead of their time. This car has it all: all wheel drive, all wheel steering,

a twin turbocharged DOHC 6 cylinder engine making 320 HP, and a power retractable hardtop. It sold new in California for

$66,715 in 1996!I have every single piece of documentation from day one. This includes all recall notices, service records,

and warranty receipts. It even comes with a special "Spyder" collector box with all kinds of dealer information, brochures,

warranty information, and even a VHS tape that describes all of the cars' features.

Prior to my purchase about two and a half years ago, this had been a lifelong collector owned California car. I believe I am

the 3rd owner. Although it has a little over 121,000 miles, many items were replaced under factory warranty or regular

maintenance before I bought the car. This includes a new transmission, new transfer case, new plugs, new clutch, pressure plate,

flywheel, and new timing belt with all the associated components.

The interior is like new. No signs of wear on the seats, dash, steering wheel, console, or carpet. All the glass

is mint. The front bra hides some chips on the front bumper. Other than that, the paint and body are excellent. The paint

still shines like new, even after 20 years! All the paint is original, and the car has never been in any accidents. The

rims on the passenger side have some curb rash, but not to worry. I am including a FULL set of flawless wheels from a low

mileage Spyder with the purchase of this car! The tires are brand new.

This car runs and drives like new. It tracks straight down the road, has incredible acceleration, and even handles better

than my 2006 Z51 C6 Corvette! There are no abnormal engine noises or oil leaks of any kind. The top goes up and down perfectly

and has never had any issues. The only other thing to note is that the rear view mirror self dimmer doesn't work. Other than

that, all factory options work as they should. It has a 6 disc CD player cleverly mounted in a hidden compartment behind the back

seat and an anti-theft feature for the radio that requires a code be entered for it to work. The power antenna works and the

A/C blows ice cold.
