MG MGB Roadster Convertible No Rust Excellent Condition
1974 MG MGB Description
MG MGB Roadster - Excellent condition, no rust (really!), 63,000 miles from new. Four speed transmission with hard to find Laycock de Normanville (factory) overdrive on 3rd and 4th gear. The original 4 cylinder engine runs great and has 75 pounds of oil pressure. It has a new distributor with aPertronix electronic ignition (no points to replace) and the original twin SU carburetors with K&N air filters in the original housings. New oil cooler with steel braided hoses.
The convertible top has been recently replaced and the interior was reupholstered with leather on the seats. It has a beautiful Moto Lita wood steering wheel. Original factory British Leyland AM/FM radio. The brakes have been completely replaced except the steel lines, recently replaced the alternator, starter and battery, clutch master and slavecylinders and flex line.
I am a long time British car mechanic. I have gone through all the mechanical bits, rebuilt the carburetters, went through the gearbox, etc. making sure everything works as it should. There are no oil leaks, the engine starts and runs great! This is not your typical rusty MGB that hardly runs or idles, it must be seen and driven to appreciate.
This was the last year of the chrome bumper models. The overdrive transmission really transforms this car and allows effortless highway cruising. I recently acquired a Triumph TR6 and have two other cars as well, so I'm out of garage space andreluctantly the B has to go. You won't find a nicer example of this fine vintage British convertible. I wouldn't hesitate to drive it anywhere. Additional pictures available upon request.
