1974 MGB ROADSTER RARE BLACK TULIP COLOR NICE CAR
1974 MG MGB Description
1974 Full Chrome Bumper MGB - One of the most desirable MGBs. They actually made 3 bumpers this model year, the rubber “blocks”, and the full rubber. This is one of the very last of the chrome bumper MGBs – which are valued at 60% to 100% more than full rubber. Has many recent parts, and parts with low mileage. Owned by an award winning MG owner. This is the desirable rarest color Black Tulip or Aconite (very dark purple) and won "Best Paint" at last year's New Jersey Central Club annual event – honestly not because of the condition, but the color. Just a handful of this color on the last chrome bumper. This has the very desirable overdrive, it worked but a relay is out and is priced accordingly. The car could use a new muffler as well, but sounds kind of neat so I have kept as is. Has cracked paint and slight dent in trunk where someone tried to close it without undoing the latch. Some dings and a number 2 1/2 car on the 5 point scale, with 1 being concours. The following are new or rebuilt in past 5,000 miles: ignition parts (100 miles!) engine, tranny, clutch, brakes, suspension, carbs, some body panels, interior, top and Mini-lite wheels which alone cost $2,000. This was done by the previous owner, who does safety checks for the club, and was a college professor in Industrial Arts. This is about half of the average shape NADA guide, look it up - Classic Car Value - you will see $14,000 average and $32,000 fully restored.NOTE: The mileage is unknown, thought to be under 100,000. The 12,000 miles listed is the miles since much mechanical, interior and exterior work was done.
