THE GTP ITSELF
THE NEON BLUE METALLICPAINT HAS ABRILLIANT SHINEWITH NO CLEARCOAT ISSUES.THE ONLY MINOR SUNFADE IS ON THE FRONT NOSE BELOW THE HOOD BUT HARD TO NOTICE. EVEN THE HOOD LOUVRES HAVE NOT FADED NOR CRACKED.YOU WILL BE HARD PRESSED TO FIND ANY DINGS OR SCRATCHES. THERE IS NO DAMAGE OR CRACKING TO THE LOWER FRONT SPOILER AREA. THE INTERIOR SEATING AREAIS SPOTLESS WITH NO RIPS TEARS OR STAINS. THE CARPET AND ORIGINAL FLOOR MATS ARE VERY CLEAN.THE PEDALS SHOW LITTLE TO NO WEAR.THE HEADLINER IS TIGHT AND CLEAN AND HAVENOWATER STAINS FROM THE MOONROOF.AS YOU CAN SEE THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT ISIMMACULATE AND NOTHING HAS BEEN PAINTED AND STILL HAS FACTORY MARKINGS NOTED IN 1 PIC. SAME CAN BE SAID OF THE TRUNK AREA WHICH LOOKS LIKE NOTHING WAS EVER PUT IN THERE.EVEN THE FACTORY EXHAUST TIPS ARE BRIGHT AFTER 25 YEARS. JUST ONE OF THE MANY DETAILS SHOWING HOW THIS GTP WAS TAKEN CARE OF.
THE MECHANICALS
NOT ONLY WAS THE GTP KEPT IMMACULATE FOR 25 YEARS IT WAS MAINTAINED THE SAME SERVICED MORE THAN REGULAR. THE TIMING BELT WATER PUMP AND THERMOSTAT WERE REPLACED AT 50K MILES AS ROUTINE MAINTENANCE. THE GTPSTARTS RIGHT UP AND CRUISES DOWN THE ROAD . THE 3.4 LITRE RATED AT 215 HORSEPOWER AND THE 5 SPEED SHIFTS SMOOTHLY AND HAS A LOT OF SNAP. THE HORSEPOWER DOESNT SEEM LIKE A LOT IN TODAYS WORLD, BUT CONSIDER A 1991 TRANS AM ONLY WAS RATED ABOUT 225 HP.THERE IS NO BRAKE OR EXHAUST NOISE. ALL MECHANICALS WORK AS THEY SHOULD POWER OPTIONS, HEAT AND AC TAKE CARE OF BUSINESS. THE HUD AND INFORMATION CENTER(LOCATED IN FRONT OF CONSOLE)WORK PERFECTLY.THE BFG COMP TA STIRES 245/50 R16HAVE 50 % TREAD LIFELEFTBUT DUE TO AGE SHOULD BE REPLACEDSHORTLY DOWNTHE ROAD.THE CROSS LACE WHEELSARE VERY CLEAN ANDHAVE NO CLEAR COAT PEELING IN THE LIP AREA WHICH IS COMMON. THE POWER ANTENNA STILL WORKS WHICH AFTER ALL THIS TIME IS RARE. PICS SHOW UP AND DOWN.
