2001 Pontiac Trans Am WS6 LS6 Stroker 500hp
2001 Pontiac Trans Am Description
2001 Trans Am WS6 WS9 Stroker 21k Custom
Please read carefully.
This listing is for a modified 2001 Trans Am WS6 with 21k miles on it. I personally with the help of Abra auto body did a frame up rebuild so it will have a prior salvage Title stamp, but this is not a smash and fix for profit. It's rebuild, but I haven't gone through the work to convert as I never planned on selling. I have spent 15 years on this car. I took it down to the frame. All parts that could be were upgraded to top of the line performance parts.
The paint is 2000 Corvette Millennium Yellow. The engine was pulled and all parts stripped so the engine bay and other areas will also be yellow and not white the original color. The front left fender has some paint chips from a blown tire. Easy fix. Other than that the paint is perfect.
The exterior has a lot of work done to it. Ground effects all the way around and a WS9 hood not ws6. The hood stays 4 inches high all the way back to the dash. It also has extra engine air vents. I shaved the door handles and the antenna. The car has door poppers so when you unlock it just pops open the driver's door and you can push again to pop open the passenger door. They are both spring loaded.
The engine is a 389 cu in Corvette LS6 stroker motor. It's a 6.4 liter not an LS1 5.7 liter. Everything was replaced. Patriot CNC ported Stage 3 Heads port matched to intake manifold, billet rods with forged pistons, roller rockers, rings, Lunati forged no twist crankshaft. It is supported by a chromoly engine cradle. 100's of lbs lighter than stock. The engine still has good compression and I have recent dyno sheet to prove it. It's about 480 - 500hp off the crank depending on the tune and fuel type. It has 60 lb injectors as the 42's were maxed out 24 is stock. The Comp Cams custom ground cam has a tall lope so it has the rough idle I like. No drivability issues at all. I just had it into the dyno tuners for a checkup in July and she is good to go. 20 miles since. So far bulletproof.
The transmission is a built 4L60E with a shift kit. It has about 10k miles on it after rebuild. I have had zero issues with the transmission and it's solid. I recently put in a Vigilante 2800 stall torque converter with a turbo mod as I was going that route, but stopped. It's very street able at 2800.
The rear end is a Moser 12 Bolt with 4.11 gears. I am at 2400 rpm at 70 mph so it isn't too bad.
The fuel system is a dual Walbro 255 setup running at 70 psi. 60 lb injectors up front with aftermarket rails. Future proof for boost or NOS if the new owner decides to go that route. No nitrous have even been ran through this car PERIOD. Not a bottle baby.
The exhaust system is SLP long tube flow matched headers to a Y pip and a flow master exhaust. There is also a cutout welded in place for open exhaust for the track.
The air intake is a custom build. The intake manifold is a fast 90mm paired with a 90mm Nick Williams throttle body. Manifold ports are port matches to the heads. The MAP sensor was upgrade to a 2 bar for future boost tuning. The battery was relocated to the back of the vehicle and has it's own bracket and 200 amp breaker (not a fuse).
There is a two way lcd alarm and auto start installed. It will tell you if there is an impact from 100's of feet away and you can start and see it started as well.
The interior is in good condition. Seats are fine with zero wear or rips and the leather is still great. Nonsmoking vehicle. There are a lot of gauges installed. The 3 middle vents have gauges in them now. Very unique. Oil Pressure, Water Temp, Fuel Pressure. I also added an aftermarket steering wheel, but haven't finished the horn.
The tires are good, but the wheels themselves are showing some wear. The wheels are just chrome 2002 Corvette wheels. I'd have them refurbished or just get a new setup, but the tires that are on the vehicle are not cheap and have a lot of life left in them. Nitto Drag Radials are on the rear. Falken F451 Z rated on the front.
The suspension is stock ws6 springs and shocks. Every single piece of the rest of it has been replaced with stronger and lighter chromoly parts from A arms, trailing arms to the adjustable torque arm. Almost every single suspension component is adjustable so if you drag or run it at the track you can have it tuned to your needs.
The brakes are zinc plated drilled and slotted rotors with EBC brake pads. Still in great shape.
The car is water tight. No odd leaks from the T-Tops or windows.
Things that should be noted.
I removed both air bags. I was going to install an LCD in the passenger side, but never got around to it. There are a couple gauges for the turbo I planned on installing that are not connected, but are installed and included and can work without boost as well. Wide band A/F and Boost PSI. I removed the AC to save on weight. Cats have been removed. The radio needs an intennna or an antenna as the rear was shaved like the door handles. I just listen to CD's. They make cheap antennas that go on your windshield. It has only seen the track one time on a 90 degree day. The car ran a low 11 spinning. I haven't ran it with slicks, but my hope is high tens at the right track. The Nittos spun all the way through 1st gear at the track without a dyno tune. With traction the car is a monster in the eighth mile.
The bad.
Even though I did a restoration in my opinion and not a repair it's still flagged as salvage. It has been inspected by MN DOT. I haven't tried to get a rebuilt title. I've been working on the horn and steering wheel upgrade so I might have it fixed, but it's not a huge deal just needs to be wired properly with the new steering wheel. The paint chips I mentioned earlier in the description on the front left inner fender. I just bought a new center console lid I haven't put on the old one broke. The exhaust tips did get kicked and are slightly bent. Not bad. That is all I can think of so other than that she is perfect.
Final
There is too much to list everything and I may have missed some things so bear with me. I have a lot of parts to go with it as well. I don't need to sell this so please do not low ball me I won't even respond. The engine work alone exceeds the asking price and I have over 50 grand into this and countless hours of blood sweat and tears and a few scares. More tears when it's gone. If I don't get what I want I will just keep it. I think with a little work its magazine worthy. I just don't have the room anymore and don't use it enough. Hence the Mileage. I will entertain offers, but no I will not trade you for your honda civic. ;)
