I have owned this car since 2006 and completed the restoration in 2008. The VIN is 1G2PM37RXGP201564. The car has a 5 speed manual transmission.
The restoration includes: A totally rebuilt 2.8 engine. I bought the block with new crank, pistons, rings and heads from a rebuilding company. Most of the exterior engine parts have been powder coated.
The car has had all of the panels off and a small patch of rust repaired with new steel. Most of the suspension parts have been power coated. It has new adjustable Struts, new front shocks and poly bushings
The brake disks, calipers, master cylinder were all new or rebuilt in 2009.
The body has custom scopes on the side and back lid plus vents in the hood. The door handles and side trim have been shaved resulting in very clean body lines. The paint is a Blue with some pearl and the clear has been sanded and polished for great finish. White accents were added to the hood and trunk lids..
The interior has been redone with new carpet, seat covers by Mike, new headliner and radio/cd player. A custom dash and console streamline the interior. The Odometer and other instruments are from another car and do not reflect the mileage. The tach and speedo have glowing dials. Since the conversion I have driven it less than 6000 miles, mostly to car shows. The rebuilt engine has less than 4000 on it.
Problem items:
The air conditioning has a new compressor and dryer but is not working, there is an electrical control problem. I put in a new fuel pump and now the gas gauge does not work, I think the float got hung up when I put it back together and I don’t have the energy to drop the tank again. On a cold start it takes just a few seconds to build pressure for the injectors so you might have to turn the key twice to start it.
I have over $12,000 in just parts in this car, that’s nothing for labor. I am moving and I need to sell the car.
