1995 Pontiac Trans Am Description

Up for your bid is a 1995 Pontiac Trans Am project car or could use as parts or maybe good for a race car body. Low, low reserve. Located in Central Texas about 30 miles in the country from Austi, Texas. Car will need to be picked up by trailer. Please realize transport companies can be very expensive. Please also realize this is a project car. Clean clear regular Texas title in my name.
Have not had this car for very long. It looks pretty good and complete and solid and pretty untouched and stock. I will answer questions about what I can but my info is very limited.
This is real Trans Am and not just a base Firebird. It has the LT1 350 Corvette's motor and pretty loaded including 4 wheel disc brakes and a posi rear end and T-tops. I was told the motor has a spun main bearing. I was told it does run but makes a horrible noise. I charged up the battery and the motor is totally locked up now. May be able to just be rebuilt and maybe at worst will need a new crankshaft. I do not know for sure. The motor may be bad and un-salvageable...I do not know. But it has many good parts (probably). If you needed an engine there is a company called Mabbco that sells rebuilt LT-1 short blocks in Texas on Ebay for about $700 - $800.
Body appears pretty good and solid. I do not see much damage on the whole body. The driver's side has a broken ground effects lower trim that needs to be replacing. The driver's rear quarter and the passenger quarter has a small ding on the top. The front nose has a tear in the urethane that was apparently patched before. I re-tore the nose loading it onto a trailer. It may be able to be re-patched and re-glued. It it not very noticeable. Other than that the body is really pretty good an solid and all parts like doors and fenders and hood fit well and have good alignment.
The big issue with the car and body is the weird paint. I need to point out that the whole car is coated in some odd semi-flat black coating. I do not know if it is even paint or some type of plastic coating but it pretty solid and in fair condition and not flaking off nor chipping. It has a slight texture to it. There are some little minor chips and flaws and stress marks and damage to this paint/coating in places but for the most part the car looks good and pretty uniform and cool over all. This surface treatment gives the car a more sinister street racer and Mad Max look or Knight Rider look and more aggressiveness to it. I just really needed to point this paint issue out because some people are going to like it and some will not. Just found out that the coating is supposed to be Plasti-dip which is supposed to be easily removed with WD-40. Have not tried this yet.....but I really don't mind the way it looks now.
Interior is rough and has some problems. Mainly age and wear and tear. The seats are the GTA style tan leather articulated seats but need to be reupholstered. The leather is very worn and torn up. The car has no headliner. The dash is cracked and horrible but does have a cover so it is not too noticeable. The radio is missing. There is wear and tear and plenty of little problems and needing minor fixes here and there. Honestly just getting the seats covered with seat covers or having them reupholstered or replaced and the car will look pretty descent. Both door panels look pretty nice. Headlights work and go up and down. Wiring looks stock and pretty untouched.
Wheels and tires look fair. Has the factory WS-6 chrome rims. Some rims have minor bends on the rim edge and minor road rash but not too bad at all. Tires are pretty fair and have at least 50% tread and hold air good. I believe the brakes work and the exhaust and drivetrain are stock and not hacked up nor messed with. I believe all the glass, windshield and the T-tops are good. Car has automatic transmission but looks fine and shifter there and connected but unsure if the transmission is fine or not since I never have drove the car. I bought it just like it is now.
Over all the car is a little rough in places and needs the motor rebuilt or replaced. Or you can use it for parts or use for a race car. Car must be towed away.Car rolls and steers fine.Car had recent Texas inspection and registration is good thru 10/17. Located in Central Texas south of Austin. Not interested in trades or payment plans of any kind. Payment in full due within 7 days. Pickup can be up to 30 days as long as the car is paid for. Please realize transport can be very expensive for a non running car.
