1963 Pontiac Bonneville 2 door hard top 389
1963 Pontiac Bonneville Description
Was partially restored in the early nineties, with new paint and interior, wheels/tires, the 389 engine is original. The paint looks shiny in the pictures, I just washed it...it needs a good buffing...it's not quite as shiny in person.
It was my brother in law's, he quit driving it in 1996, it's been sitting in someone's garage ever since. I bought it from him 5 years ago because he lost interest and I was storing it for him anyway. I am a Chevy guy, and I have grown tired of moving this around my shop...it's big.
It had headers on it, which cooked the starter, and you wouldn't believe what the exhaust job did to the very expensive Hooker headers to get them to fit; I still have them. I pulled those off and put some exhaust manifolds on it, and am getting the dual exhaust reconnected.
I had the starter rebuilt, gave it new plugs/wires/points, battery, etc...and it now starts up, runs, drives. The transmission is one of the "Slim Jim" automatics.
New brake shoes, wheel cylinders, had the drums turned, and new master cylinder.
It's all there, with some elbow grease someone could be cruising this summer.
The body is very straight, minor rust in a few normal places.
I also have a tri-power manifold with carbs (not original) that I might include with it, depending on offers.
