The biggest change for 1956 was in the engine. The new for 1955 V8 was drastically enlarged to 316.6 cu in (5.2 L). Horsepower made a considerable increase, jumping to 192 and 205 respectively. MechanicalThis Chieftain has a nice 316 ci 5.2L engine that runs great. The automatic transmission shifts smoothly through the gears. Tires and brakes are in great condition.
