For Sale via eBay 7 day Auction (with NO RESERVE) - 2000 Porsche Boxster 986 Convertible in excellent overall condition and low original miles (66,953 miles as of this listing). The standard features include the 2.7 Liter 6 Cylinder engine, 5 speed manual transmission, power windows, power top, and power door locks. Options include 17 inch Sport Classic Wheels andthe Porsche CDR-220 Stereo system withtheday-mounted 4 CD changer (plus one CD in the unit itself). The paint color is black with the gray interior. This car runs well, shifts and rides smoothly and quietly, and handles quite well with no noise or squeaks. It does not burn or leak any oil.
Toprepare the car for its new owner, the battery has been replaced and thefront tires (Michelin Pilot Sports) are brand new. The rear tires (also Michelin Pilot Sports) are relatively new. This car had a full professional service (Mobil 1 Oil and filter change, etc.) about 1000 miles ago, and has recently been professionally detailed. In addition, this car was taken to the Service Department at the local Porsche Dealership for an annualcheck within the past year, and everything checked out fine. Since this car is in solid mechanical shape, it easily passes the rigorous mandatory annual mechanical inspection in Pennsylvania. This car also came with a clean CARFAX report when I purchased it from a reputable foreign car dealer, and nothing has happened since then to change the report status. Inaddition to being inspected, the car is registered and insured, and isdriven one or two days a week at most, and only in nice weather (never driven in snow or ice and seldom in the rain). It is always stored indoors in the garage, and hence the reason for offering it for sale; as my wife has a new car on order and will need the indoor storage space for her new car.
One minor defect that is being disclosed is a small to moderate dent in the right lower rocker panel just in front of the right rear wheel (no picture of it as such; it but may be visible by zooming in on the right profile picture and looking just in front of the right rear wheel).Since this minor dent was very recently discovered, it is scheduled to be fixed at a local professional auto body shop at my expense. Since there is a moderate wait to get the car into this particular shop for its appointment, if the car sells prior to this body repair, the buyer will receive a credit on the final purchase price of the estimated amount of the repair ($300) or it can be fixed as scheduled and then delivered to the new owner upon completion.
Other items included with the sale are the two factory keys (fully functioning) with lock and alarm setting, the original owners manual and product sales brochure, and tool kit and wheel lock key. There is NO money owed on the car, and the car is being sold "AS-IS" with NO WARRANTY of any type, neither expressed nor implied.
The starting price (minimum bid) for this car is $9000 with NO RESERVE, which is quite reasonable for a 16 year old German sports car in this condition with this few accumulated miles; it is only slightly above the current NADA Clean Trade-in value, and considerably below the current NADA Clean Retail value of $11,300. The winning auction bid will require a $500 deposit via PayPal or other recognized method within 48 hours, with the balance to be paid in Cash or Bank Check upon pickup. I should be available on the weekends in the late afternoon, or anytime during in the day in the middle of the week tofacilitate pickup of the car at my residence in Pike County in Northeastern Pennsylvania.Any shipping or freight activities would be arranged solely bythe buyer after the car is paid for infull.
