2005 Porsche 911 S Cabriolet - Tiptronic - Sport Chrono Plus
2005 Porsche 911 S - Cabriolet - Sport Chrono Plus Description
2005 911 Carrera S - 997.1. 48,000 miles. Black basalt metallic exterior, beige interior. Tiptronic transmission. Engine has new LN engineering "Nickies" cylinder liners, new JE pistons and a new LN engineering single row pro ceramic intermediate shaft bearing, with a spacer bushing that allows the bearing to be removed and replaced without splitting the engine cases. Sport chrono plus package - with sport mode that changes transmission shift points and computer mapping for sportier response. Also has nav, Bose sound, and nineteen inch OEM wheels. Car has a few exterior dings and interior defects that are normal for car of its age. Tires and brakes in good condition. Car was purchased last spring with a rough idle and check engine light. On inspection the car was determined to have two scored cylinders, several cracked coil packs, and a bad alternator diode pack. About an hour and a half of run time prior to purchase the car was over reved - with about 0.2 seconds in range 5. History report shows some minor collision damage that was repaired, no airbag deployment, don't have any details on the work performed. The engine was disassembled, and no over rev damage was noted. On reassembly the following new parts were installed - LN engineering "Nickies" liners for all six cylinders, JE pistons and rings, main bearings, rod bearings, timing chains, timing chain guides, ARP connecting rod bolts, gaskets, cylinder head bolts, LN engineering single row pro intermediate shaft bearing, intermediate shaft was inspected and sprocket was pinned at LN engineering. The 4-6 timing chain tensioner and all lifters were also replaced with new parts, as was the water pump, and air oil separator. Thermostat was replaced with a 160 degree thermostat. Serpentine belt and spark plugs were also replaced. Car has about 250 miles on the first round of Driven BR40 break in oil. Engine runs great and car is lots of fun to drive. Asking $35,000 but would consider a trade up or down for another broken Porsche from model year 2000 and later - fix broken Porsches as a hobby and looking for my next project car.
