2006 Porsche Cayman S Hatchback 2-Door Description
.I purchased this Cayman in bone stock form in March 2016 and decided to make some upgrades while I was servicing the suspension and brakes. This Cayman S is now the car Porsche should have shipped in the first place
.
While I love the car and it's a blast to drive, my situation has changed and I no longer have a place to keep it garaged.
A couple of people have complained about my asking price, saying it is above book. It is. But compare my asking price to the other Caymans in the included search link and this car doesn't seem far out of line.
Even if you buy one at "book price" you're not going to get a recent full transmission service ($600), new tires ($1500), new suspension ($1300 not including installation), all new brakes ($2100), new water pump ($1000), customized OEM exhaust ($850 not including installation), performance computer tune ($800), liftbars ($280), LED interior lights ($150), etc., etc.I have reduced my asking price by $1000.Assuming a "book price" car in typical condition, the buyer is getting all my research, my effort and labor, paid service work, OEM parts, performance upgrades, and numerous other bits at about 45 cents on the dollar. If $27k for a car like this does not seem reasonable then you're probably not looking for a car in this condition and with these substantial upgrades.

It will be a great toy for a new owner but my price is firm at this point.
Condition
New Tires.
New Battery.
New Water Pump.
Control modulereset by dealer andHomeLink and seat heaters are once again operable.Overall good condition with typical interior and exterior wear for a 10-year-old vehicle. Small chips/stars in windshield as might be expected. Some curb rash on two wheels (before my time, one front, one rear, see pics). Minor rash on driver’s seat (my fault, could be touched up, see pics). It passes detailed mechanical inspection and shows no signs of abuse, water intrusion, electrical, or other problems. I’ve put about 4200 miles on it since project completion so it’s all been well-tested.
Drives perfectly in every way and I'm confident stated top speed (157 mph) is easily reached if desired.I (mostly) drive it like an adultand it cruises happily at 95-100. Ihave once pushed it to 153 - it ran perfectly stable with no vibrations and still had more speed available. I have no way of reliably clocking acceleration times but it's definitely quicker than stock numbers (4.8 sec 0-60 and standing 1/4 in
13.3 seconds). Seeroadandtrack.com/new-cars/reviews/a11313/2006-porsche-cayman-s-1
This car’s documentation indicates it spent most of its life around Brownsville and southern Texas so it has had little exposure to rain, and no exposure to snow or salt. Bottom is clean with no evidence of having been bounced off a speed bump or other obstacle. It appears to have a good service history and to have been gently driven by previous owners. Documentation says there was some minor damage in 2011 but it was evidently repaired correctly as I can't see anything wrong.
Location
I am relocating from Houston to Bartlesville and will be back and forth (not with the Porsche) and could be persuaded to deliver it in Houston or Tulsa if desired
Previews
This vehicle is now located in the Bartlesville area of Oklahoma. For serious prospective buyer I will present the vehicle for in-person inspection in a public place following a phone call. No tire-kicking, please. This vehicle is exactly as represented, warts and all. It's worth what I'm asking but serious offers from qualified buyers will be considered.
Price & Financing
This car falls in the middle of the field price-wise and comes with many new and upgraded bits, not to mention the labor to install it all.CLICK HERE to search for comparable listings on eBay.
The car is financed through Pentagon Federal Credit Union (PenFed.org). They lent $25k at 2.99% in April. Anyone can join PenFed.org for a small fee/donation and if you finance through PenFed.org then we should be able to do the whole transaction with minimal fuss.Factory Installed Options

What Is Needed:
- I only received 1 key and the remote doesn’t function so a second key would be a good idea. Maybe the remote can be made to work but I haven't figured it out.
- Backup camera and iPod/iPhone connector need to be connected to the head unit. (I’ll get around to this eventually but right now it’s an outstanding item so I include it here.)
