2006 PORSCHE 911 Carrera S 3.8L.94K miles on this this fully customized 997.1 beauty!! Classic Guards Red color with Sand Beige interior. Since the very beginning, the idea for this project was to create a poor man’s 997.1 GT3 or a 997.1 GTS (which never existed) so to speak. As an homage to the CS 911s from the 70’s and 80’s, I call this car my 997.1 CS, hence the badge. This car started out as a stock 997.1 Carrera S 3.8L. I bought the car with approximately 91K miles on it. It was in a good condition for its age and mileage. The reasons why I bought this car were as follows a) it is Guards Red, b) it has Manual Transmission c) it is equipped with the optional Sport Seats (which I always love).
This car was upgraded by the famous SpeedSport Tuning shop in Connecticut.
The MECHANICAL UPGRADES include the following:
IPD Plenum
M&M/FVD Brombacher FULL exhaust including headers and high flow cats with custom black ceramic coated exhaust tips.
997 OEM GT2 short throw kit.
Bilstein PSS9 coilover kit which is compatible with PASM.
OS Giken Limited Slip Differential.
Tarret Drop Links and TPC Adjustable sway bars.
Evolution Motorsports Cold Air Intake kit.
Custom Dyno Tune.
The results of the work done were very nice, in my humble opinion. The baseline dyno run was 313WHP or 356BHP which is right along the manufacturer’s claim. After the work was done, it dynoed at 345WHP or 393BHP. Just a reminder, 997.1 GT3 was rated at 415BHP and the 997.2 GTS was rated at 408BHP. Also, the X51 Power Kit which was a very high dollar option for 997.1 cars from the factory was rated at 381BHP.
The noise this car makes above 4,500 rpm is to die for! Any 911 sounds pretty good but the exhaust upgrade really opened it up. It is still very civil under normal driving conditions.
Then, we went to town with INTERIOR and EXTERIOR customization include:
OEM Porsche 997.2 mirror assemblies painted in gloss black (again, 997.2 GTS / 997.1 theme)
Painted seat backs to match the exterior Guards Red color.
Painted center console to match the exterior Guards Red color.
CF and leather OEM Steering Wheel, Shift Knob and E Brake Lever combo.
CF key hole surround, light switch and lower console trim.
Red OEM Porsche front seat belts.
The front of the car (front bumper, hood and front fenders) was repainted due to the normal rock chip damage. Yes, I wanted for the car to be perfect and, yes, it was an overkill. After the paint work was done, the entire front of the car was covered in 3M clear bra (includes the entire hood).
Headlights and Bumper Lights were professionally re-finished.
19” OEM Lobster Claws were painted in high gloss black with a Guards Red lip. I am currently running H&R wheel Spacers (7mm front/15mm back) for a wider, more aggressive stance.
This beauty has never been tracked even though the suspension upgrades would probably make it quite a weapon at the track.
Car has been maintained by PORSCHE dealerships all its life. ALL maintenance is up to date. Less than 5K miles on the clutch. Clean CARFAX. I personally did not find any previous paintwork or body work on the car. GREAT CONDITION! Bridgestone tires have about 60% useful life left on them. The car does have a sunroof and extended leather.Money being no object, I should probably keep this one as a future classic. But I cannot have them all. One fun project at a time – at least for now. Call me or email me with any questions. I do have a CARFAX report, dyno sheet etc.You won’t be disappointed. The car is for sale locally, so I doe reserve the right to end the auction early. My cell#: 904-654-3836.
