1972 Porsche 914 Description

1972 914 with newly rebuilt 2.0L motor
BODY:
Excellent overall. Hell hole, rear trunk and floors are completely rust free and show no signs of repair. Doors shut perfectly and glass is excellent all around. Chrome bumpers are not perfect but presentable with small dings and blemishes. Bumper caps are also excellent. Paint is nice from any distance (see photos) but not perfect. There is damage from a fallen tree limb which has left a dent in the front trunk and also a small spot on the rear. The damage is not visible from the trunk interior.
INTERIOR:
Overall, excellent. The dash and seats are near perfect and the carpet is like new. Appearance group center console, Italian Gt steering wheel and vintage racing lap belts. Center console gauges are not hooked up but wiring harness is in place. Targa top is also excellent.
DRIVE TRAIN:
The 2.0L motor (GA009868) was just rebuilt by European Motor Works in Hawthorne CA and has less than 10 hrs running time since installation. The valves have just been readjusted and the head bolts re-torqued. The motor under went a complete rebuild; mild cam, dual Italian 40 Webers, 96 MM Jugs and Keith Black Hypereutectic pistons, align bored case, balanced rods and crank, lightened flywheel, Sachs stage 2.5 clutch package, Gt Racing 1 5/8 OD headers with street turbo muffler and megaphone included. See video for engine test stand run-in.
This 914 was set up to be a reliable STREET/AUTOCROSS car with a stock appearance. It does still need some minor fine tuning to be 100%. Carbs where synchronized with an air flow meter but the linkage could use some minor adjustment. Also the front end is not as tight as i would prefer but not to bad. Tires are new KUMHO 205/50R15s on black enameled Riviera wheels and fit nicely under the car. There is no heat due to the headers but I do have a nice set of SS heat exchangers, blower and necessary plumbing if winning bidder is interested at purchasing separate. A full set of retractable seat belts, visors, jack and front spare are included with the car. The wiper switch is mostly inoperable so I've included a replacement switch as well.
Please look closely at the photos and videos, or better yet, come see the car in person. Also, please ask questions before auction end and DO NOT BID unless you have the means to complete the transaction. This is a no reserve auction so bid accordingly. I have over $7k in the motor alone and the condition of the interior and body make this one of the nicer 914's out there. Best of luck.
