1973 Porsche 914, 1.7 L | Second Owner Must Sell!
1973 Porsche 914 Description
973 Porsche 914, 1.7 offered for sale by the 2nd owners. This is a nice, ready to drive clean title car in virtually original condition, to be enjoyed as is or ready for extra-special attention if the new owner so chooses. Car has 127,528 documented miles on it. The original, hard-to-find Sepia Braun (Brown) color was expensively re-painted in 2002 and done so well it fooled our last mechanic. Color looks great with the chrome bumpers. This car originated in California where we purchased it in 1997 from the original owner. We drove it actively for about 3 years as our second car. After we left California, the car travelled with us via trailer during various relocations in Florida, California and Connecticut, where it has been mostly garaged (but run). We have service records from the original owner as well as from our ownership, plus the original manual and various related documents. As far as we know little to nothing has been done to alter this car other than normal maintenance, worn part replacement and repair for routine wear-and-tear. Since 2000 this 914 has been a used as a fun ride, mostly taken out on the nice summer weekends.
Our current service folks rated this car a "7 out of 10." (See their recent write-up at the end of the photos and email me for the two-page report.) This car starts right up, handles well and is ready for the open highway the day you take it.
Please review the photos for visual information. Below is a detailed inventory of the issues of which we are aware. We are not mechanics or gearheads, just two people who bought a 914 when we lived in Los Angeles in the late 1990s as a then 25-year old vintage sports car.
We urge you to email us at craig@craigholmes.net or call at 203 745-6280 with any questions you may have. We will make every effort to provide you with as much information as possible to help you determine if this 914 is the right one for you. Thanks for looking!
