2005 Subaru Legacy GT Limited Description
This ad is for a2005 Subaru Legacy GT Limited Wagon. These are very rare cars, as are most wagons here in the US. This car is powered by a turbocharged, 2.5L flat four which shares most of its powertrain architecture with the WRX / STi. This being the Limited model, the car comes with a leather interior, an oversized powered sunroof, and heated front seats. Production numbers have this specific configuration (Regal Blue, Wagon, Limited, Automatic) as 1 of 79. I believe I am the fourth owner of the car and I have put 42k miles on it in the past four years as my daily driver. You would be hard pressed to find this combination of speed, comfort, practicality, and features (sunroof, leather, heated seats) anywhere else. Selling because I moved into a lovely E91 BMW wagon. VIN: 4S3BP676154316864 The good:
This is a fast car that drives well and it has had a lot of major maintenance and some upgrades done to it during my ownership. With the transmission in Sport Auto it's a really fun car.
Wheels and tires are very new (Wheels 04/16, Tires 12/15). Subaru OEM Legacy GT wheels with Goodyear Pilot Sport All Seasons. No rash / defects, and those are not cheap tires.
Headlight bulbs and foglights are brand new all around, foglights are drop-in LED bulbs.
VF52 Turbocharger, Catless Up-pipe, and Cobb Catted Downpipe installed with a basic street tune by Cryotune Performance.
This setup has been on the car for 20k miles and 2 years. I would not hesitate to say that this car will keep pace with a stock STi while not raising any eyebrows.
Upgraded because the stock VF40 broke, which is known to happen.
All preventative measures were taken to ensure engine longevity, the oil cooler was replaced, the pan was dropped and cleaned thoroughly, and the banjo bolt filters were removed and cleaned. Several break-in oil changes were performed.
Brakes have been upgraded to DBA slotted rotors all around and Hawk HPS High Performance Brake Pads. Pads have plenty of life, front rotors were touched up this spring.
Cobb Accessport V2 with Box and Test Connectors will come with the car. (I will not part this out). The Cable is visible in some photos.
Carpet has been replaced with black carpet.
Brand new floormats
Shift knob and center console trim have been replaced with silver pieces.
Sunroof works great, no leaks.
Windshield is brand new, just replaced due to a large rock chip / crack.
AUX-in mod has been performed on this car. (Look up Jazzy Aux-in on LegacyGT.com/Forums)
Front grill replaced with a mesh version due to a bird strike on the highway
Has cargo cover (rare)
Heat blows hot, A/C blows cold.
Maintenance I have personally performed or had done:
Timing belt / Water pump service done at 95k (this is the big one, it's a $1500 job, $400 in parts)
Spark Plugs done at 95k in conjunction with timing belt / water pump
Transmission / Differential Fluids done last winter at 114k (Trans was the only one I didn't do myself)
Rear wheel bearings at 102k
Oil changed every 3500 miles
Engine mounts replaced with OEM
Transmission mount replaced with OEM
Intake Manifold gaskets replaced
K&N air filter.
PCV replaced at 114k
OCV Solenoids removed / cleaned.
Injector O-Rings
The bad:
Body has some issues, mostly some large door dings / dents / scratches, it has 1 area of visible corrosion which is common on these cars at the driver's rear fender. Subaru puts these silly rubber trim pieces on the fender lips, which retain water and lead to this condition. Paint is in good shape otherwise, Recently detailed and corrected.
Driver's seat has a tear in the perforated leather, this may be fixable. It has not grown in my 4 years of ownership.
Driver's seat lower heated portion does not work. Also a common Subaru thing.
Rear cupholder is broken. I have never seen a functional unit. Replacements are $75 on eBay.
The plastic undertray has seen better days... would recommend replacement.
Extras: (full asking price gets everything)
I have replaced 2 of the 4 door handles on the car during my ownership. I expect the other 2 will go at some point (common Subaru thing), I have pre-painted spares I will include with the sale.
1 set of Legacy GT OEM wheels. If you want to put snow tires on these (or summer tires) they are serviceable, some dings / rash / one has a bend.
Stock brake rotors / pads. These are worth money to people who want to upgrade their Outback XT's.
