1987 Toyota Van 4WD
1987 Toyota Other Description
This is a very cool car! It’s coated in rhino lining with a custom interior. It was converted from the auto locking high speed 4wd only to manual locking hubs with a hi/lo 4WD stick. Automatic transmission.
157,000 miles. In the last 5000 miles I replaced radiator hoses, all belts, plugs, plug cables, distributor cap and rotor, coil, new alternator, new all terrain general grabber tires, custom windshield rubber seal and a few other minor things.
The car has no major issues. A few minor quirks such as the gas gauge not working nor the cruise control. The AC is currently disconnected as I removed the original beer cooler and had to undo the hoses.
This is a fun off road camper. Its not the fastest kid on the block though so don’t expect massive acceleration. The low 4wd is very low and combined with the amazing turn radius this van is great go anywhere machine.
The interior was partly redone, new carpet, custom panel and bed in the back with setup for a woofer and power amp if desired. Currently has 2 6x9 JBL speakers in removable enclosures.
All the dashboard elements are in good shape - just one small crack on the glove compartment door.
One rip on driver side and could use some professional cleaning. Headliner has some rips. There is still some small work that can be done on the inside trim - I'll leave that to for your pleasure.
The car has a salvage title. Form what I understand of the history it had a blown head gasket many years ago and sat for something like 6-7 years. The previous owner purchased it, rebuilt the top end, rhino lined it, added the manual 4x4 works.
I love this car - had Toyota vans for the last 8 years but I’n ready for something else.
Note that I have the vehicle for sale locally as well.
