1987 Toyota Van
1987 Toyota Other LE Description
1987 Toyota Van LE, moonroof, sunroof combo, with fridge and ice maker.
I've had this van for the last 5 years and treated it as on ongoing project to see how "luxurious" (please take note of quotes) I could make it. In an effort to become a better parent, I'm selling this van to buy one with modern safety features.
This van is in terrific shape, runs great, just had a tune up replacing distributor cap, rotor and wires, new battery as well.
Never had an issue passing California smog tests.
Power rear sunroof (measures 30 X 30 inches), power windows and locks all work, but the rear hatch door lock sometimes sticks. I think some sound dampening material might have gotten jammed in there, it does work, just takes a few tries sometimes. AC works, although belt squeaks now and again when it feels like it. Mini fridge (6pack) / ice maker work.
At 143k miles, I had the suspension redone. New shocks, bushings and joints, I have the receipts. Also added Second Skin sound dampener under carpet and in doors and that has worked wonders to quiet the ride. The front seats and door inserts were redone in brown leather using the original patterns - seat heaters were installed at the same time, complete with high/low settings. Some scuffs on the passenger side armrest, but still in good shape. Kenwood stereo has a remote, USB and AUX jack. Speakers are stock as they were when they left the factory, I will include original head unit, cassette player does not work on that.
A few small cracks in the dash and the plastic around the sunroof switch is cracked. The carpet around the front seat, where you access the engine, is getting frayed. (see pics.) Second and third row seats are mint and all seat belts are present.
Paint was touched up and custom "Bento" stripes added. Fair job, not the best. Door jambs were ignored so some overspray in those. Some runs and clear coat is thin in spots. The roof wasn't touched and could use attention as oxidation is visible and some rust spots now showing though. Rust bubble showing on rear driver side window, (aprox one and a half by quarter inch, see pic.) Locking Yakima racks included.
No reserve, $3,450.00 or over takes it, and I know the "Buy It Now" price is high, but would seal the deal, and I'm curious to see where the auction goes.
Clear title in my name.
Vehicle is for sale locally, successful sale would end auction early.
