1997 Toyota Land Cruiser Description

Just in time for summer an excellent triple locked FZJ80 with some tasteful and very useful mods. Came from the factory with the electric diff locks. PO (electrical engineer) added the center diff lock and the 7pin mod. OE throttle lock and blue fan clutch also added. He purchased it from TLC 4x4 in California in 2011, I bought from him approx. a year ago
Other electrical mods include;
Dual batteries with a National Luna intelligent solenoid that controls charge to batteries.
With the exception of the fog light relay all additional wiring is routed via a Bussmann fuse/relay block mounted in the base of the center console.
The second battery is its own separate circuit for the auxiliary power. Voltage is monitored with the National Luna controller and digitally with a volt meter and three position switch (L battery, R battery and off) where the napkin slot used to be.
One relay is for the auxiliary 12v plugs and USB plugs mounted in the front console, rear of the center console and in the rear cargo area. The fuses for these and the CB are mounted on the passenger seat bracket.
The additional wiring from the main relay block includes switches for outer and inner roof lights, auxiliary external 12 volt camp/task lighting via a sealed dual pin plug (one in the tailgate one in the front bumper), and the cargo area is pre-wired for a fridge.
The roof light wiring routes through the D pillar vent finisher. If the roof rack is removed the lights can be removed with it. The light wiring includes a water proof four pin connector.
Ultra Gauge to read from the OBDII port. It is mounted via suction cup to the lower driver side corner of the wind shield.
Notable items other than the electrical upgrades include:
Seatbelts replaced with new OE belts.
Did not have a factory roof rack or rear wing, so there are no holes in the roof. Except the sun roof. It works but I don't use it. Sun roof drain tubes have never had any issues with water collection. Always kept it in the garage by the PO and me so there was never a chance of the tubes becoming fouled with debris.
PHH replaced and did the tube bypass. Gates hoses and constant torque clamps.
OME stock height replacement springs, shocks and steering damper. Tires are Maxxis Bighorn 255/85 x 16" mounted on Toyota Tacoma 16 hole steel wheels 7" wide. I also have a set of Lexus alloys with the original Toyota alloy spare that can be had with the purchase as well.
Baja roof rack includes dual jerry can mounts and spare tire holder.
ARB front bumper (winch version but no winch) with Hella 550 amber fog lights, and CB antenna mount. 4' Firestick antenna is included with the Cobra SW75 CB Radio. Additional CB antenna/task light mounts are fitted to the location of the rear hatch latches. The antenna could easily be relocated to the rear.
OE radio antenna was removed to make way for the Toyota snorkel (70 Series topper). The mounting of the bracket in the A pillar was done with nutserts, not the typical rivets. If the snorkel is removed some seals and a few bolts would plug the holes.
Third row seats removed by PO to install a box and drawer system, but retained the ability to put the seats back in. The box is secured with a second set of third row seat brackets. This allows the box to be removed and replaced with the seats. The box is a simple plywood box with no rails. The drawers are 1/2" thick plastic material. The fit to the box slots is tight enough to prevent play but loose enough to slide in and out. The material slides rather easily without guides or rails. The drawers can be fully removed.
If you want the third row seats to go with it they will be included in the sale.
The rig does have a little trail pin-striping that I tried to show in the pictures. Most of it buffed out with the pre-sale detail but a little remains.
This is an honest rust free rig that I expect will give years of pleasure to whoever buys it and takes care of it. If you have been looking at these rigs you know what to look for and this one has all the highlights. I am only selling because I have a 60 series that needs more of my attention.
