1996 Toyota Land Cruiser Description

For Sale, 1996 FZJ80 Land Cruiser.
Rebuilt by one of the finestLand Cruiser shops in the nation,ACC Garage in Atlanta. Since it's rebuild I have only put around 3,000 miles on it.
A little history. I love Land Cruisers. This is my third. I still have my first one, a 1970 FJ40, and I sold my FJ62 about three years ago. I picked this FZJ80 up about two years ago. I was looking for a new project car, because I like fixing broken things.
Mechanically speaking this FZJ80 is in the best shape of its life since it left the dealership. I also upgraded the interior, with the intention of eventually getting around to the exterior for a repaint, but that hasn't happened.
Please look closely at the pictures, and if you need a better quality photograph, or want to see something specific please PM me with your request.
I would like to sell this because I am about to purchase a TRD Off Road 4-Runner, and the wife won't let me keep both.
Below is a list of what has been replaced or rebuilt, all work done by ACC Garage. If you would like to see the work orders, then PM me and I will forward them to you.
  • Machined head
  • Rebuilt injectors
  • New head gasket
  • New O2 sensors
  • New water pump
  • All new hoses
  • New belts
  • New radiator assembly
  • New rear rotors
  • New battery terminals
  • New steering relay
  • New tie rods
  • New oil pump gasket
  • Complete front knuckle rebuild, both wheels
  • 2" Lift, Iron Man "B" lift with Foam Cell Shocks
  • 4 powder coated wheels
  • New 4x4 Labs rear swing gate with tire carrier
  • New Sony radio with bluetooth. Microphone installedin rebuild.
  • All new speakers
  • New rock sliders
  • Iron Man front bumper with fog lights
  • Warn M8000 winch with syntheticline
  • Rebuilt front and rear drive shaft with new U-joints
  • Rebuilt motor controls for front and passenger seats
  • Replaced power steering pump
  • Reworked door locks
  • Five new BF Goodrich AT tires

Interior was also reworked with the following items (local shop, not ACC):
  • Completely new leather upholstery, including 3rd row seats.
  • Pattern was added to seating
  • All new carpet to match original from factory
  • New leather steering wheel cover
  • New leather arm rest covers, all four doors
  • New leather center console cover
  • New leather e-brake cover
Below is a list of items that in my opinion may need some work at some point.
  • Paint Job (I would rate the paint job about 4/10. At some point in it's life it was repainted, but the quality was very poor). The white FJ80 didn't come with a clear coat from the factory, and this shows.
  • Muffler. The existing one rattles a little bit, but the catalytic converter is fine.
  • Windows have trouble rolling down in the cold, but work fine in the summer and spring. This seems to be a trend in all Land Cruisers with power windows (my FJ62 did the same thing). It's not the motors, but the hardened weatherstripping runs on both sides of the windows. I received an estimate from ACC to replace the window runs (both the inside and outside of the window). Will send it to you if you would like.
  • This has a few small rust spots. It lived the first part of its life in New York state. In my opinion none of it is major. The worst spot is at the driver side rear wheel well (see photo), some bubbling around the window weatherstripping at the front wind shield, and some minor surface rust on some parts of the frame.
  • Second row passenger seat latching mechanism has a broken extension rod. More of a pain to deal with than anything. Seat latches fine.
  • Makes a few weird sounds every now and then that I have not investigated.

This bid does not include the Yakima Racks or Accessories.

Love this Land Cruiser. Between the originalpurchase price of the vehicle, all of the ACC upgrades, and the interior upgrades, I have spent close to $37,000. Hate I have to sell it, but my loss is somebody's gain. Once again PM me if you need some more info.
Thanks
