1973 VW Super Beetle Convertible

1973 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic Description

I have owned this VW for 16 years. It has been garage kept that entire time. I originally purchased it in Florida and brought it to Georgia. I only drove it if we could drive with the top down. It has literally only been rained on a handful of times since I have owned it (pop up shower while we were out in it). We used to drive it quite a bit when the kids were younger going to soccer games and the ice cream shop etc. As they all grew up it just sits here most of the time and could really use a new home. We probably average a few to several hundred miles a year and only a few hundred miles the last several years combined. The odometer says 40723 which is probably 140723 in reality.
Over the years I have replaced various small things including bumpers, running boards, seat glides, seat sides, chrome trim rings, turn signal rubber and lenses, passenger side mirror. Never had to repair anything major, mostly just tune ups, batteries etc. Always ran well and never had any concerns about running my kids around town in it. Their are no rips in the seats or headliner. The paint is serviceable but not excellent. The car has fairly new tires on it. I had purchased a boot cover for the top but never put it on, it will go with the car along with the service manuals (chilton's etc) The CD player is the removable face plate type.
Known issues:The top has separated from the back window (see pic) this may be able to be stretched and glued by a pro. It has been like this for most of the time that I have owned it. As I never took it out of the garage unless the weather was perfect it never was an issue for me.There is a crinkle in the hood and hood sits slightly askew (see pic) was like that when I got it.The ac is not in the car. I have part of the unit but not the compressor.
This is a 32 year old car, please have realistic expectations. It is in good shape for it's age. It has spent it's life either in Florida and/or a garage in Georgia but it is not a show car.
