2001 Volkswagen Jetta GLX Sedan 4-Door Description

Hello and thank you for looking at my auction. My name is Joe and I sell vehicles differently than most dealers. Buying your next car or truck through one of my NO RESERVE auctions is the best way to take the games out of your next automotive purchase. I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please take the time to read this entire description as well as our Terms & Conditions carefully BEFORE asking questions or placing a bid as most answers can be found in at least one of those places. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction.

Up for a NO RESERVE auction is a 2001 Volkswagen Jetta GLX VR6 with the desirable 5 speed manual transmission. I would rate the exterior of this Jetta to be in AVERAGE CONDITION for it's age and mileage. As you can see, the dark green finish is a little faded from age but is presentable. I bought this car nearly 3 months ago and kind of forgot about it until just now. It sat outside in the sun and rain on a gravel lot and I just pulled it in and took pictures without even washing it, so keep that in mind. She'll probably clean up a little nicer than she looks in the photos. However, there are some genuinely faded spots here and there. The body itself doesn't look too bad. As with any older vehicle, please expect a few flaws and imperfections commensurate with age and mileage. However, there is no noteworthy damage to report on the exterior. The hood, doors and trunk all open and close easily. All of the glass and lenses are intact, with exception of a small crack in the lower left corner of the windshield. The wheels are aftermarket and give the car an aggressive look. The sit wide, thanks to a set of spacers. The tires are on the thin side of average all around. Please take your time and check out each of the photos carefully.

I would also rate the interior of this Jetta to be in AVERAGE CONDITION for it's age and mileage. The door cards show well for their age. The carpets also show well throughout the interior. The dash is clean. The headliner is loose from age. Being a GLX, this Jetta is pretty well optioned. Both front seats are heated. The leather seats also show well for their age. The power windows, locks, mirrors and sunroof all work properly. The climate control system is fully automatic and appears to be working properly. I know the heat works but I can't remember if the air conditioner worked so assume it doesn't. The audio system has been upgraded with an aftermarket CD player, which seems to be working fine. The trunk is spacious and clean. Again, please take your time to chcek out each of the photos carefully.

Mechanically, this Jetta appears to be in good running and driving condition. The 2.8L VR6 engine starts easily and runs smoothly. I didn't notice any leaks and the engine doesn't smoke. The suspension feels loose, like most of the front bushings are worn. I've driven this car a few times and have had it doing highway speeds. I didn't die or feel like I was going to die, but I'd definitely have the front end gone over before putting too many miles on it. The engine makes good power and feels strong. The only idiot lights on were ABS lights, which I don't remember from when I initially bought it so it may just be a dirty wheel speed sensor from sittling. Steering and braking feel good. The engine keeps perfect temperature, too. The clutch engages smoothly and does not slip or chatter. Gear changes through the five speed manual transmission are clean and precise, as they should be. Out on the highway, she drives nice and straight. My only complaint would be from the aforementioned worn bushings. This car almost got parted out for an engine swap, but I ended up using a 12V VR6 instead...so this car lives to drive another mile. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.
