1960 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic Description

Offering for sale, Leisl, my 1960 Volkswagen Beetle Classic. She is a gorgeous and dependable little car. It’s been my experience that Beetles this old and in this good of condition are becoming more and more scarce and even fewer of them are for sale.

She makes a trip to the store an adventure. If I’m sitting at a red light, folks honk and give a thumbs up. When I drive her on the Interstate, people slow down to admire her.

So many people have a “Volkswagen Story” to share in a parking lot; the most interesting for me was an elderly gentleman who told me his parents drove from Illinois to California when he was a baby and they laid him behind the back seat on a bed made of pillows in the window.

You’re not bidding on just a car. You’re bidding on an icon, on memories, on dreams of yesteryear.

Body is rust-free, as can be seen in the photos, including photos of the underside. Originally purchased and restored in California. Brought to Arkansas February of 2012 with odometer showing 90766. Odometer now shows 95451. This car has been garaged since I've owned it and has never seen any inclement weather.

NOTE: Paint cracked on rear deck lid and has a partially loose headliner. Custom interior upholstery perfect condition. All seats are in perfect condition with no tears, rips, or holes.

Mechanically, this car is not a fixer upper. Engine is completely, professionally rebuilt by previous owner in California.

1600 cc dual port 4 cylinder motor, 4 speed manual and car has been converted to 12 Volt. 12 volt led tail lights, electronic 009 distributor, electronic fuel pump, original style intake manifold, original style exhaust manifolds, original style air cleaner housing, new battery, new brakes and master cylinder, new tires on rear, new original style carburetor, etc. Oil has been changed and valves adjusted on regular basis. This car will easily cruise and handle smoothly @ 70+ MPH on the interstate.
